From the first entry, "The Hamster"'s narrated accounts of his adventures, both with the Top Gear crew and solo, were witty, honest, humorous, and riveting. I thoroughly enjoyed this window into the real world of Richard Hammond. From dog-sledding in the North Pole to driving across Africa he has accomplished so much. Of all of the amazing experiences detailed in this book the one I found most inspirational was Richard's journey home for his daughter's birthday. His account of that experience was the final push that got me into running! A great book for petrol-heads, adventure nuts and Anglophiles alike.

If you love, like me, Top Gear and Richard Hammond you should buy this book. It's funny and give you an alternative look at what happens when the TG3 are filming the special episodes or the challenges among other things like how Richard Hammond ran to his house for his daughter birthday in the midst of a flooding. Yeah that how that man is.

While we're used to Richard Hammond's spunk and charm on the hit TV show Top Gear, seeing it in writing brings it to a whole new level. In addition to the usual clever quips and fantastic stories, this book truly shines because of Hammond's ability to use formal, descriptive (and sometimes, quite colorful) language to convey an informal and very personal relationship with the reader. "As You Do" is a wonderful book for both Top Gear fanatics and anyone looking for a genuinely good read.

Ok, Richard Hammond makes me laugh. He's not a literary genius or anything, but you feel like a real guy is telling stories about things about which he is enthusiastic. I was entertained.

I love Richard Hammond. He is so funny on Top Gear. Even his writing sounds like him speaking. I hope he writes more books.

I am a huge fan of Top Gear, so was excited to purchase the book. The book will give you a small look behind the scenes of the pokey motoring show on BBC 2, but more than that a large view into the mind of Richard Hammond. His writing is entertaining and humble. If you are a fan of the show, grab this book.

I bought this book for my wife, she really likes Richard Hammond. She has read all of his books and likes them all.

A long time fan of Top Gear I bought this book along with "On the Edge" to get a better sense of just who I was watching on the television screen. Mr. Hammond takes a very open and honest approach in his writing, although some of his descriptions can be a bit over the top. His book is somewhat tongue-in-cheek as it is abundantly clear there is no such thing as a typical day in his world. Mr. Hammond seems to not take himself too seriously (he often draws the short straw) and it is his humorous take on all of the mishaps and adventures he partakes that makes this a joyous read.
