Description

...an easy, funny, packed read. It looks great, it never bored me for even a second, and it even made me laugh out loud a few times.― Pipeline Comics ...furiously funny and hilariously jam-packed with timeless jibes and cracking contemporary swipes, plus an enchanting double-surprise ending. Asterix and the Chariot Race is a sure win and another triumphant addition to the mythic canon for laugh-seekers in general and all devotees of comics.― Comics Review ...the transition to new author/illustrator is seamless with all the best points of the originals faithfully reproduced. [...] Brilliantly written and illustrated; a worthy successor.― Parents in Touch An energetic story with some very bad/good jokes, and just enough silly Roman-bashing, it's just the sort of thing we Asterix fans love― THE INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY on Asterix and the Missing Scroll Rene Goscinny was born in Paris in 1926, and spent most of his childhood in Argentina, before eventually moving to Paris in 1951. He died in 1977. Albert Uderzo was born in 1927 in a small village in Marne, France. He met Rene Goscinny in 1951 and on 29 October 1959 their most famous creation, Asterix, made his first appearance on page 20 of Pilote. ASTERIX THE GAUL, their first album, was published in 1961. Jean-Yves Ferri and Didier Conrad began writing and illustrating Asterix in 2013 with ASTERIX AND THE PICTS. There have now been 37 albums.

Coronavirus, the masked hoax!

Great comic! Love especially how Coronavirus was masked and a villain three years prior to the hoax coming to the USA.

The new authors are fantastic.

This book is every bit as good as Uderzo and Goscinny's classics! And Jean-Yves Ferri must be prescient about current events. NO spoilers from me, if you read it you will know ;)

Great Comic

I've been a fan of these comics from the States ever since I was a kid. The artwork is aesthetic, the humor is relatable and the stories are engaging, even with so many similar elements from book to book. Surprisingly complex and taught me a lot about ancient history when I was growing up. Once you're hooked, you'll never tire of watching the Gauls beat the Romans up time and again. May these grand adventures never come to an end!
