Features & Highlights

  • Everybody's talking about the hot new app rating New York's most eligible bachelors. But why focus on Prince Charming when you can read the latest dirt on the lowest-ranked "Bad Bachelors"―NYC's most notorious bad boys.
  • He says…
  • If one more person mentions Bad Bachelors to me, someone's gonna get hurt. Who thought this app would be a good idea? Like dating isn't hard enough without being critiqued for every little misstep. My name is Reed McMahon and I'm supposedly a PR whiz and "image fixer," but now I need some help cleaning up my own image.
  • She says…
  • When Reed strolls into my workplace offering to help save the struggling library, I'm not buying his story. I'm Darcy Greer, a no-nonsense Brooklynite who knows Reed is exactly the kind of guy to be avoided. I've seen the app, and Bad Bachelor #1 has no place in my life. However, the library
  • does
  • need his help, and this guy needs to make some serious amends, so who am I to stop him? If only he didn't work so hard to find redemption…

Who is the Bad Bachelor?

Great book and great premise. We all have our real self that we keep hidden from others even our closest friends. I enjoyed the banter between the two lead characters.

London pens an easy to read, lighthearted romance with an original plot and delightful characters

Dating sites, curse or blessing for the modern singleton? With Bad Bachelor, Stefanie London breathes freshness into this rom-com trope about the worst rated bachelor in NYC and the shy, tattooed and pierced librarian who broke through his defenses.

Darcy Green knows the library she works at needs help. Desperately. So when she recognizes the #1 Bad Bachelor walking in to offer his highly sought after PR skills pro-bono, she grudgingly accepts his help. She only knows about Reed McMahon’s infamy through a new bachelor reviewing app, but being forced to spend time together reveals his soft and vulnerable underbelly.

Convinced love is akin to a death sentence, Reed has spent his life keeping everyone at arm’s length and building walls to protect his heart. He’s dedicated to his career and little else, but when his job leads him to the enigmatic librarian his life begins to unravel in unexpected ways.

London crafts a delightfully charming love story with a wonderful balance between snarky fun, sexiness and tender understanding. Using the bachelor reviewing app as part of the story’s premise gives an original twist to modern dating and the unchecked comments that create havoc in Reed’s life rings true.

The antagonistic attraction between Darcy and Reed is fun and ultimately sexy, enhanced by their snarky banter. Yet they both relate to one another deeply even though they present a vastly different façade to the world. Finding their happy ending will be a difficult journey, but a certainly enjoyable one in which Reed overcomes his fear of love and connection and Darcy learns to accept herself.

With Bad Bachelor, London pens an easy to read, lighthearted romance with an original plot and delightful characters. I can’t wait to read the next instalment in the series.

Bad Bachelor is book #1 of the Bad Bachelors series by Stefanie London. It is a standalone romantic comedy in the opposites attract, enemies to lovers genre. Told from both points of view with a happily ending, no cliffhanger.

Nothing bad over here!

I had to re-read the first part to fully understand what I was reading about, and that I understood it correctly—that the story revolves around an app called Bad Bachelor, which basically rates New York's Bachelors on how they treat their dates. Personally, I thought it was ridiculous and unfair, because even though Men can be jerks they are still human and like how the story went, it wasn't full-proof that these women were indeed 100% truthful in their reviews—like I said, it was unfair...and it was exactly how the male protagonist felt.

So this story is about Reed McMahon, PR guru, the Bad Bachelor—who is more than what meets the eye... and Darcy Greer, a passionate, and tattooed librarian who just wants to finally forget the past and live anew. They met doing a project together for the library and then evolved from there.

This was my first time to read something from Stefanie London... The concept of the story was definitely unique to me and overall, I loved it... I loved how the characters were written... that Reed, despite his playboy ways, was close to his father... that Darcy was able to overcome her emotional baggage... that despite the ridiculousness of the so-called app, there was humor and heart in it... It was all kinds of sweet and light. I'm definitely going to check more of Stefanie's work.

Refreshing, well-written, and with a great concept!!!

Stefanie London did an amazing job creating a story where opposites attract and against all odds become something more. I'm not going to say much about the plot–just that it was refreshing, well-written, and with a great concept.

I really enjoyed both characters, but my favorite was definitely Darcy. She was not your typical bookworm and that really gave the story tons of brownie points.

Bad Bachelor went from this is just ok to I’m not sleeping till I finish it. And even though I felt the ending a little bit rushed, I enjoyed it. A fun start to a sexy series. Can't wait to read Bad Reputation.

Loved these two main characters and so enjoyed their sparing!

The Bad Bachelors app designed for the women of New York enabling them to have their say and learn about their potential dates totally dishes Reed McMahoon. When Reed shows up to Darcy’s library as the head of a fund-raising campaign, she is not sure what to think She had cancelled her wedding a year ago when she found her fiancé kissing another man and now is unable to trust any man. Reed, who has issues with libraries since his mother who used to read to him took off years ago and hasn’t communicated since, agrees to help the library when his secretary pleads the case for the struggling institution. Okay, I have to admit that I loved these two main characters and so enjoyed their sparing back and forth. I couldn’t put it down and HIGHLY recommend it. Sourcebooks provided me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Fun with great characters!

Bad Bachelor was a ton of fun with a deep emotional pull. Darcy was a local librarian who was tasked with working with a PR firm to host a fundraiser for the library. Darcy did not like Reid, the PR consultant, who dressed like a million bucks (in comparison to her nerdy t-shirts and combat boots) and hadn't stepped in a library in years. The chemistry between the two was immediate and I loved how both characters were too stubborn to give in. There was also a lot of depth on both Darcy and Reid - they both had strained relationships with their family members and they learned how to cope together. I would reread this book in a heartbeat.
