disappointing sequel

My daughter loves the original Pout Pout Fish book and my wife and I enjoy reading it to her. So I bought this book. It's like 5 pages long, with limited plot development and no new character archetypes. It's basically all denouement. This would make a better greeting card than children's book. Seems like the publisher just wanted to cash in on extending the franchise. They probably underpay the author and illustrator too. 2 stars from me: a grimace and a growl.

Mini Adventure not an Adventure

I bought this because I thought it was an Adventure (longer story) but it is a mini adventure. I am disappointed but it's still cute.

Very short & thin, but cute

Very short book with only 5 pages (as you can see in the picture of the last page, it is very thin). I know it is considered a mini tale, but the print is so large on the pages without many words, unlike the other pout-pout books. Otherwise, it is a cute story about Mr. Fish and his friends sharing and being thankful.

Simple way to explain Thanksgiving to toddlers

We like the cadence to the text of the original Pout Pout Fish. This book unfortunately does not have the same fun text with rhyming/repetition. The story is simple but sweet and there is a lot to look at (and for toddlers to comment on!) in the pictures. Still good for my toddler that is starting to read and sound out words.

Light on content

Similar to the hype Christmas gets compared to thanksgiving, this book is also quite thin compared to the Christmas Pout-Pout book. The Pout-pout series never disappoints, but it is only a few pages long.

A Kaleidoscope of Mope

No tails of cheery cherries, this book just fills you full of dreary wearies. Instead of thanks this book just tanks. Float on by this floppy fish of fail.

If you like Pout Pout Fish pick another one

The book is sturdy and in good condition and I knew it was going to be short. However, the story is just strange. It uses words and phrases that are confusing for little kids in my opinion. My child cannot talk yet but I can't imagine explaining some of the phrases to him in a way that would make sense. We love Pout Pout Fish original, the Big Big Dark, and the Halloween one but I would pass on this one.
