  • At the cabin, in the garden, or on a hike, keep this tabbed booklet close at hand. Based on Stan Tekiela's best-selling bird field guides and featuring only Northeast birds, the booklet is organized by color for quick and easy identification. Narrow your choices by color, and view just a few birds at a time. The pocket-sized format is much easier to use than laminated foldouts, and the tear-resistant pages help to make the book durable in the field.

Look for Another Guide

This, to me, is a waste of money. Book is meant to be a pocket guide, so I expected small. Limited information but more importantly, these pictures are drawings, not photos. Tough to identify birds.

handy

Nice size. Spiral binding is great. color coding and additional information about what different birds like for food and which ones are most likely to come to a feeder was useful.

minimalist but effective avian identifier

good for an immediate quick, short visual comparison of common birds of the northeast. However, don't expect this to be a replacement for a Sibley's or Stokes or National Geographic or Peterson or Audubon or DK Smithsonian or NWF or Princeton or any other in-depth avian dinosaur field guide or reference.

Perfect quick reference guide

This was PERFECT for what I was looking for! It's very easy and quick to use. It has many of the birds you'd ever see around maine and it's quick reference allows you to look it up by color. I love that it even has an indicator of it'll come to your bird feeder by the bird pictures. It's small enough to carry anywhere with you. I didn't want all the extra information on the bird that some books give so this is perfect to just be able to look it up to find the name.

Bird watchers book

Bought this book for my mother in law. She has a bird feeder outside her window at the nursing home. She looks up the birds. The guide is color coded so it’s easy to look up!
