so much more than I expected

The blurb as well as the cover for Blind Devotion by S. Nelson really caught my attention and since I'd never read anything by this author, I couldn't wait to find out more about Alina and this arranged marriage of hers.

The story sort of started out slow, in fact, one night lasted through several chapters, but I could feel that the plot was building. I immediately took a disliking to Alina's father. For someone so powerful and so high up in the law firm, he never gave his daughter enough credit. And for Alina to be a lawyer, I felt she truly lacked confidence. I wanted her to be strong-minded and tough, to stand up for herself, especially where Chris, her soon-to-be husband, was concerned.

I could sense a different side to Alina when she was around Max though, the mysterious gentleman she meets at the charity function hosted by her father. Max empowers her and it's obvious the two have chemistry. Max is a bit of a mystery but I like him from the very first time we meet him. He's sexy and intriguing, someone that could add to Alina's life. To me, Max totally made this story complete. He was eye-catching and very irresistible, someone that was hard to say no to.

I thoroughly enjoyed S. Nelson's writing style and she kept me glued to the pages once the story really started to take off. I also really liked the way the story played out and it ended up being so much more than I expected.
