Breaking Free: An M/M, Hate to Want You, Sports Romance (South River University)

Breaking Free is a enemies to lovers, college sports romance. Trevor is a football player and he is struggling with his sexuality he just admitted to himself that he is gay but he doesn’t know why he can’t come out, even if he has a few friends that are gay or bi, when he meets Dominic in a frat party at a rival school they hookup, but later Trevor is very surprised when Dominic shows up in the locker room, he is the new guy on his football team, he is the one challenging Trevor for his position. Dominic is been transfer to a new college to be near his mom and they are going trough something, he is surprised to see Trevor but he doesn’t know that he isn’t out but Dominic try’s to hookup with him again, these two are back and forth and Trevor runs hot and cold with Dominic and it’s afraid to someone found out about him been gay, but Trevor can’t stop thinking about him and hates every time he flirts with someone else. Just a little drama! Lol… when Trevor finally accept his feelings for him they and start spending time together they will definitely develop feelings for each other, I like their relationship, Trevor have a great relationship with his parents and friends everyone was really supportive when Trevor finally comes out, Dominic and Trevor are really good together and I love their story. Overall this was a fun, streamy and low angst read.

I thought I loved the first book in this series, but I tell you what, this one is even better! I loved how Dom was able to help Trevor through his anxieties about himself and end up showing who he truly is with people. I can't wait to see how the series ends!

This was a really good book by a new to me author. It was an enemies to lovers, coming out book that was really well done and well written. I didn't read the first two books of the series, but didn't feel as if I was missing information, although I enjoyed it so much I want to read the other books now. I'm looking forward to reading more books by this author.

The instant tension and attraction towards each other was just BEYOND. This is book three in Isabel’s South River University series. Each book can be read as a standalone but we get glimpses of Trevor in books one and two and well.. he has a secret, hate to want you vibes towards Dom and the have a casual secret relationship that works for both of them.. until it doesn’t.

I love how the pacing in this is perfect for it being a short story with being between 200-230 pages.

I absolutely love every book in this series, but I think this one is my favorite. I love the playfulness and fake annoyance between Trevor and Dominic. Their story was unique so it was really refreshing. Both of them grow throughout the book, not just one. Love having both their points of views. Definitely will be reading more of Isabel Lucero’s books. Highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a good MM story!

I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK. Holy crap, y’all! This one is by far my FAVORITE in the series. More angst, more sweet moments, more sexy times. Good lawd, the sexy times! 🥵

We finally get Trevor’s story and let me just say he is lucky AF catching the eye of Dominic aka Dom. Cuz, dang, does that name fit! While Trevor is stuck trying to figure out what he really wants, Dom challenges him to be honest. The push/pull was insane and the chemistry was unbelievable. But when Trevor finally started being true to himself?? One of the best MM romances. Nothing is sexier than a man who knows what he wants and a man willing to kneel and take orders. Their dynamic was perfect!

Add in the amazing side characters and this series just keeps getting better and better. But Trevor and Dominic are going to hold a special place with me! Two imperfectly perfect men who find themselves with each other.

I am really enjoying Isabel’s South River University series. This was a low angst enemies to lovers story involving Trevor that is very much in the closet and Dom which is totally out.

What a love/hate relationship Trevor had with not only Dom but with himself. He struggled even though his friends are gay and bi. They had an instant chemistry and never expected to see each other again. Well until they did. Lol.

It was great seeing the characters we met in book 1 and catching up with them too. Bring on the following book to wrap up their series

Wow….I love Dom’s and Trav’s story. It is seriously hot 🔥🌡. But not only that is it a story of trust (you have to be able to trust that you will have someone in your corner to revel a secret as big as Trev’s), love, faith (same as trust), and learning to be yourself and not let other people’s opinions hold you back. I loved when Trev told Dom you make me feel free. I don’t hold any prejudices against any group of people whether it is their nationality, skin color, beliefs, or their sexuality. I have grown up in Hawaii and is so mixed up that it has been referred to as a melting pot that to hold anyone’s beliefs, sexuality, nationally, skin color, etc against them. If I did I would likely have no friends so it’s very hard to grow into a judge mental or to have any prejudices. Anyway, back to Breaking Free, I felt that it is a very positive and uplifting view in how it feels to be scared of being judged and have people’s opinions hold you back until you are ready to come out and let people’s opinions not affect how you view yourself. Breaking Free is very aptly named as that is totally what Trev was doing by becoming involved with Dom and to start telling people his truth. I really like the way Isabel Lucero, author, writes on issues that can make some people uncomfortable or judgement mental and simply have the story be about the couple the book is focused in and their journey to their own HEA. I highly recommend Breaking Free and can’t wait for Tempting Him to be released. I am planning on checking out other books by Isabel as she is fast becoming one of my favorite authors regardless of trope while waiting on Tempting Him. The Kingston Brothers Series sounds and looks like a great series to read. I hope you (readers) will enjoy Breaking Free as much as I do. Have fun reading 📖.

I absolutely adored this book! Trevor and Dominic were so sweet together! Dominic was so patient with Trevor and it was amazing to watch their love story unfold! I am in love with this series and so excited for the next book! ❤️
