Megan Kreiner grew up on Long Island, New York, in a home where art and art projects were a daily part of life. Coming from a long line of knitters and crocheters, Megan learned the craft at an early age from her grandmother, her aunt, and her mother. As of 2012, her MK Crochet pattern line has been published and featured in books and various crochet and knitting magazines. Inspired by her early love of Disney movies, Megan also pursued a career in the feature animation industry in Los Angeles, California, and currently works as an animator. Megan lives in Altadena, California. Meryl Henderson is a graduate of Syracuse University. In 1974, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. For the past 44 years, she has been working as a freelance illustrator, specializing in artwork for children. NOT for beginners

Only enough yarn to make the lab puppy and chihuahua. The instructions are written in shorthand that are very hard to decipher as a beginner with very few pictures showing step by step of the actual dog. There is no way this is for beginners.

I decided to return this within two minutes of opening it.

THIS PRODUCT IS POOP

This product it awful. First off, the directions are impossible to follow and hard to read. Second the yarn quality is the worst I’ve ever felt, not only that but after I quit on the directions I wanted to just use it for other projects and I kid you not 1 stitch in I see a GIANT knot. This product is poop, DO NOT BUY!

Not good for beginners, bad instructions.

Instructions are NOT detailed and hard to understand instructions are coded and make you flip back and forth to learn the simple techniques. If you expect to pick this up and learn to crochet as a pure beginner, the you will be disappointed. This is perhaps a good kit for someone who is more seasoned who is looking for new crochet patterns. Please do not buy if you are trying to learn from scratch.

Fun! But not beginner friendly.

So......this book was good but I had to learn new but good tips to make the patterns. The instructions were clear but i just couldn't compute on how to follow them in my brain. You have to basically join, chain 1, and pull really tight, and not work in the round to create the color changes. I had to redo the Weiner dog about 5 times before getting it right. I've always worked in the rounds but the tip to join, chain 1 and pull tight really made the color chain stacked instead of leaning. I'd say this book is more of an intermediate skill level than beginners. All in all, I had a lot of fun, learned new skills, and loved the end result as they look a little more realistic. I used worsted weight yarn in my photos as I found the yarn that came with the kit was a little thin and I have trouble working with thinner yarns.

Don’t buy this

These patterns are terrible. Better patterns are available free online. The yarn is cheap quality and you only get enough to make 2 of the dogs.

Adorable dogs

Directions for all 10 dogs worth the money. However included yarn supplies were enough for maybe 2 dogs

Very cute and giftable

I really like how cute these are and all the different options there are for you to choose from to make, I like that the kit includes what you need, it makes it very giftable. I will say though as someone who is not great at following directions, or rather someone who needs a lot of explanation, the booklet with directions wasn't really super great for me. Maybe this should be used for someone who already has a little bit of a background already in crocheting rather than a true beginner.
