Features & Highlights

  • Stitch for a greener future with this stunning collection of environment and nature focused designs from leading cross stitch designer Emma Congdon, better known as Stitchrovia.
  • Whether it’s a plea to save the bees, clean up the oceans, appreciate nature, or unplug from technology, this celebration of the green movement in thread will remind us of the need to come together to build a brighter future, one stitch at a time.  Emma's iconic designs are universally loved by her fans who have bought over 40,000 of her patterns on Etsy, and who have set up a dedicated fan group on Facebook, where they share their work in progress and proud finishes.  This collection features 20 exclusive designs, each with an easy-to-read full colour and symbol chart. Alongside the designs, Emma shares her thoughts and inspirations for each one, with a detailed materials list and instructions for stitching. Beginners to cross stitch will find a helpful guide to the stitches and techniques used – and the beauty of cross stitch is that if you can sew one cross you can sew all these spectacular designs! The designs range in size from mini hoops to larger scale samplers, so there are options to suit everyone – and they all share Emma's skill with colour, typography and design which have made her one of the world's best-loved cross stitch designers. Gorgeous, thoughtful, and Practical

As others have noted, I can see myself making most of these designs, which is unusual in a book of patterns. The patterns are large, clear, and in full color. There is a helpful list of all needed materials and amounts, which is so helpful. There is a spirit of joy versus perfection, as well. Finally, I deeply appreciate the philosophy of making the best possible choices in thread and materials based on environmental and ethical concerns - yet everything suggested is widely and affordable available. Terrific book.

5 stars

This book is wonderful! Normally you buy a book like this and you stitch one or two out of the entire book, in this book there's only one that I wouldn't stitch. There are sooo many lovely patterns. I can't t wait to start stitching! My biggest problem is which project to start first. Highly recommend this book, you won't regret it.

Earth Day Purchase

I got this in the spirit of earth day. I have not started stitching on any of these just yet. The cover pic is not a pattern contained in the book.

Lovely patterns

Emma Congdon has done it again! Lovely patterns that are great to stitch, and even if you don’t want to use the whole pattern, many of them have smaller motifs that can be used for small stitching. I love her style and the fonts that she uses and the way she does the shading on them. Her messages about the environment are clear and her patterns are easy to follow and stitch. I suggest scanning the pattern and using that as a working copy so that you have the book for many years to come.
