Curious George Stories to Share

Once we began reading stories to our little one before bedtime we quickly realized that more reading material was required. He enjoyed watching the Curious George episodes and thought it would be fun to make some of his stories more tangible, in the form of a book. We found this book and decided to buy it, due to the number of stories and illustrations.

This Curious George Stories to Share book has a good quality hard back binding that is a matte finish. The pages of the book are printed on heavy glossy paper, not easily torn by a toddler, and every page is nicely illustrated. The stories in the book are fun to read and keep our toddler's attention while reading to him. We've owned this book for about ten months and, as you can see in the pictures, it is holding up very well.

If you're looking for a good series of Curious George books that are made to last, then this is a good buy. This book is "in the style of" HA Rey, written by different people. I knew that ahead of time, so I wasn't disappointed, but I wish the purchase page made that information clearer. I bought this book because my preschooler and I love [[ASIN:0618538224 A Treasury of Curious George]] and [[ASIN:0618663738 The New Adventures of Curious George]]. All these books are priced amazingly considering the high quality of the durable hardcover and glossy pages. The Red book is by far the best, then the Blue book, then last this Yellow book. This book has some cute stories, like "First Day of School" and "Pizza Party" but the stories drag a little. I swear that George is deliberately misbehaving more in this book, as opposed to his usual tender-hearted misunderstandings. For the reasonable price of $9, I think this book is still worth getting if you have other other ones.

my son loves Curious George and I bought this collection because his original "Treasury of Curious George" has been read so much it is falling apart. These stories are written by other authors and are so awkward to read, I have to make up my own versions. VERY POORLY WRITTEN. My son still wants to read them, but I would reccommend Treasury instead- much better original H.A. Rey stories.

We are big fans of Curious George at our house! I love these treasury books that give you so many wonderful stories all in one. We have read this treasury (and many others) over and over again - they never get old. They are also great books for beginning readers to read once they can master other books like Biscuit or other 'I can read' level 1 or pre-readers. One thing that I did with my children when they started reading these was alternate. Depending on how confident they are, you can start with alternating sentences and then alternating pages. Another thing that helped my son was tapping my hand when he didn't know a word...then he would continue on after I would read only that word. This helped because he could get pretty frustrated and angry sometimes. After implementing the 'tap,' reading no longer became a chore or something that made you feel bad because you didn't know some of the words. After that, we were just able to enjoy the stories together knowing we might not know every word, and that is okay because sometimes we need a little help. The tap helped because he didn't have to keep saying "I don't know this!!!!" We found that a really easy solution to solve that issue. But back to Curious George...really fun stories for kids and adults alike! And purchasing the treasury books are a cost-effective way to add a ton of books (8 in this one!) to your home library. Highly recommend!

In the eyes of my four year old you can't go wrong with George. However we have the other two volumes, the red and blue books, and they are much better.

We love Curious George! But we especially love these collections of stories we've bought on Amazon because of them being hard cover. In my experience, hard covers are necessary with small children, especially if you want your books to last more than one child. Great value! Definitely worth the extra money to get hard cover! We also choose to travel with this book because it hold up to travel, AND it's like bring along multiple books with us.

Written and illustrated "in the style" of the originals, these stories enthrall my three year old daughter but are pretty formulaic and boring for me. The artwork however is pretty good and convincing mimicry of the originals. One interesting thing I noticed was a scrupulous devotion to racial and gender diversity in the illustrations. Funny, yes?

The quality for the hard cover will keep it in good shape for a long time. I haven't gone through the whole thing yet to see what all stories it includes but really nice that it had many in one. It brings back great childhood memories of reading those stories. I highly recommend this book and seller. All came as it said it would!

My daughters are connected to some of the stories. For example, we recently celebrated our big 5-year-old girl at a pizza party and there's a whole story about it. The little girl loves fire trucks very much and there is a story about that too. It is very amusing to see how a little monkey (who can actually be any child) manages to do well with all the mess he creates....
