Defiance Falls War

DFW is the 3rd and final book book in the Defiance Falls series, picking up right where book 2 ended.
In this book, we get to see the group taking action to get their lives back and finally end the Malone's reign over them and others. Ali Dean also takes us deeper into Hazel and Cruz's relationship, showing us how hard just accepting being happy can be for Cruz but also how great the two of them are together. While there were some parts that could be kind of slow, I definitely still loved the book and the series. I am hoping that Bodhi and Ruby will get their own book to show us where their feelings began and what happens with them now.

I absolutely loved this story! It was a great read and a great conclusion to this series. I would highly recommend reading the previous two books in this series as they definitely build off of one another and the actions in book 2 really affect this book, (book 3). It was great getting to see Cruz and Hazel together and seeing them present an united front. This book falls between the new adult and young adult genres. There is sex but it is not explicit and you really don't get any details, but you know that it is happening between the characters. I loved getting to see Cruz and Hazel together and watching them figure out how to be together and dealing with fears and what was going on around them. They have dropped the evidence on the Malone's and so everything has changed. They are more in power now and have to figure out how to deal with that and what it means for everyone. This story has plenty to grab and hold your attention the entire way through. I really enjoyed the story and all the characters within our main group. It would be cool to come back and visit them again to see the rest of the crew get their happy endings. This book does conclude the story and you get a happy ending for sure. There is action and intrigue along with the romance and watching the characters figure out their relationship and how it fits with life and a future. Fantastic read!

The adventures in this book are launched immediately after the cliffhanger at the end of Book 2. This novel does not stand alone, and it is crucial to read the other two books in this trilogy, in order, before reading this book.

Hazel Ross and Cruz Donovan have just begun their senior year in high school, along with their same-age coterie of best friends, Bodhi and Emmett Boyd (Hazel’s first-cousins), Spike Matlock and Peter Moody. These six are the main actors in this drama, but there are also crucial appearances by Hazel’s father, her grandparents, and Cruz’s father and grandfather.

There is plenty of action in the form of shootings, multiple arrests, and attempted murder. There are also more sexy times between Hazel and Cruz, as well as some rocky moments in their romance. All’s well that ends well, however, and there is a positive, upbeat resolution that does an excellent job of rounding out this exciting series.

Fans of the first two books will not want to miss this final book in a terrific, YA, thriller series.

You know when a series is so good you don’t want to read the last book because you don’t want it to end but at the same time you can’t wait to read the last book because you can’t wait to see what happens? Well that is exactly how it was for me with Defiance Falls War.

Between arrests, shootings, and attempted murders this last book really brings out a ton of emotion for everyone in the group. This third book starts out with the reactions of everyone in town when the evidence on the Malones’ criminal activities come out, which causes the guys and Hazel to be treated differently. With all this going on it doesn’t go over well with the group when one of them goes missing.

Hazel and Cruz’s relationship gets put to the test when obstacles from the past try to force them apart! You don’t want to miss everything that goes down so that they can be happy together! (Which includes a murder attempt on one of there lives... to find out which one make sure you pick up the book on October 30th)

You definitely don’t want to miss all the other drama and battles that the group has to fight to keep themselves out of jail and safe!

I had really high hopes for this book. Normally anything Dean puts out I consume so quickly I have to go back and read it again to make sure I didn't miss anything. Sadly, with this book and the one prior I was bored to near tears! There just was not enough happening here to justify another book, in my opinion. I wanted to know how it ended and that was the only thing that pushed me to finish it over the course of several days, which is unusual. Most of Dean's books I've read in a single sitting! I can't say I suggest this one unless you, too, are invested and just have to know how it ends.

With this being the third book in the Defiance Falls trilogy, it gives you every emotion from the first two books and more! Action packed, addicting, romantic, page turner, thrill seeking; are just a few words to describe this amazing book.

Hazel and Cruz’s relationship gets put to the test in this book. I love seeing both of their characters evolve and grow to tackle and overcome the obstacles they have to encounter apart and together.

This is the thing I love about Ali’s books. Her characters never stay the same throughout the books, they grow and show their true colors in the end.

Being a soccer girl at heart. Definitely loved the added soccer scenes with in.

I absolutely loved this series from Ali Dean! It was a different in a way from the usual books she has written and I enjoyed it oh so much! I love all of Ali Dean's books and this one is no exception!! This book series had all of the feels, of friendship, mystery, love and loyalty! Go grab your copy!! It is a must read!

Last but definitely not least. This book has all the answers. It’s action packed but not overwhelming. It has the Hazel/Cruz moments we all love but also shows them having to overcome situations.
Ali stepped up her game for this trilogy.
Ps if for some reason you felt books 1 and 2 didn’t give you enough of the sports than get ready for this one.

Defiance Falls War is the third and final book in the Defiance Falls trilogy. This is not a standalone. You need to have read Defiance Falls and Defiance Falls Revolution. It’s an action packed, thrilling series. Those two books ended in a cliffhanger but everything was cleaned up nicely in this one. It’s a very satisfying ending.

There were many sweet moments between Cruz and Hazel. The relationships between the boys and Hazel was so good. I did struggle with how many characters there were. The trilogy itself is just bursting with characters. You almost need to write them down to remember who they are. But, the story is entertaining and different, and I enjoyed the series as a whole.
