Eyes up guardian. Don't fall for this Fallen trap
Could I not give this a zero star? it's like Amazon wantd to force even the most abysmal products like this cookbook to get some sort of love with a one-star. I should not have expected too terribly much from a cookbook from the world of Destiny but I did because I know there are actual geek and fan-based chefs out there who make the themed cookbooks absolutely amazing. Unfortunately this cookbook is full of basic Facebook type video recipes that you can get for free on 101 different recipe blogs after you click through all the ads of course. however clicking through all of those ads is far more entertaining than this cookbook could ever hope to be. I love Destiny do not get me wrong. I have Destiny stuff all over my house including Christmas trees ornaments that I am envied in my family for. This cookbook hurt my destiny soul. It is so bad because it is so basic. Coleslaw? Fried chicken? Spinach salad with strawberries? I just I just can't. I returned this hours after I opened the mail to get it. So much like that massively messed up Destiny Amazon Ghost dibacle, this cookbook tanks just as bad.

Not as it should be....
So disappointed in this cookbook. I had such high hopes and it completely disappointed me on so many levels. They should have gotten the person that did the Elders Scroll or Super Natural cookbooks!! Now those are worth every penny! At least the names of the recipes reflect the titles lol.
I know how to make COLESLAW!! LOL! I'm so confused on the generic names on so many of the recipes. Like no thought or effort was put into it at all.
Destiny has A TONNNNN of names, weapons, enemies, seasonal events, and beyond that could have been used INSTEAD OF COLESLAW!! Fried Chicken, Chicken-Fried Steak, Hush Puppies, Buttermilk Biscuits, Beef Stew, Smoked Turkey Legs.... You see where I'm going with this. Basic names!
I mean XURSLAW would have been PERFECT being that Xur has floaties around his face that could resemble cut up cabbage lol. Or maybe ThrallSlaw?!?!
This was such a let down. Can't believe Bungie approved of this smh. Anything for money lol.

Perfect DESTINY Cookbook, ignore naysayers!
This cookbook is amazing, and it is amazing for the world of Destiny. There are a lot of negative reviews, but they don't make sense when you consider what this book is supposed to be. Destiny is not Star Wars. The food isn't supposed to be alien and unrecognizable. Anyone who has played the game knows that ramen and holiday cookies are prevalent. The cookbook is written "by" Eva Levante from the tower. The food is what people in the Tower would actually be eating. It makes sense when you think about it, the tower food is very comforting, EDZ and expedition food is more like jerky and granola bars. Some of the recipes were contributed by Tower residents, like Amanda Holliday with fried chicken and cole slaw. The recipes are VERY technical and advanced. This is no little kids cookbook. Most recipes are very difficult. And they are all based on things the tower would actually have on hand. This book is basically 100% committed to being in-universe accurate. I highly recommend it for any real fan who wants an accurate, immersive experience.

Great unique cookbook
The physical construction of the cookbook is solid.
The instructions for each recipe are clear and easy to follow.
Some ingredients may be harder to find (e.g., black garlic), but most are pretty common.
12 of the recipes are drinks.
14 are sweets.
12 are components for other recipes (including the marshmallows I also counted as a sweet).
The other 46 range in cultures and dish types (snacks, entrees, sides, etc).
Some realistic expectations are in order. If you are looking for something like a cookbook written by a famous chef or food celebrity, you are going to be disappointed. If you are buying this cookbook, you are collector of Destiny novelty items and your looking for some fun recipies with a Destiny spin. Maybe you even want to throw a Destiny themed party without wading through internet recipies of questionable quality.
Any Destiny fan should enjoy the game influence within this cookbook.

This is a great gift for any destiny fan. I've made hush puppies last night, tincture of queensfoil and I plan on making ace of spades later! I've waited over a month for this book and it does not disappoint!

So very impressed; so very impressed indeed
How do I even begin? Our whole family plays destiny- myself included. I was Leary about buying this, because most fan based cookbooks are.... meh. Ok. But this one- I did not expect what we received.... Even if you have non destiny playing cooks in your life, the book and recipe quality is gift worthy.
1. The book is well produced, beautiful thick pages, bound well, the print quality, typesetting, and photography are excellent. It is equal to other high end gourmet cookbooks that I own. 2. Theme, the theme of the book is centered on dinner parties. The entire book is voiced through the main character is Eva Levante (A side quest character in the game) who took it upon herself to present a collection of favorite meals learned from hosting dinner parties with her friends. In the course of the cookbook, the reader learns personal tidbits about various characters known in the game- tidbits that cannot be learned in battle or over a beer- but can be gleaned thru dinner party conversation. This aspect really impressed me. The book helps the cook with dinner party menus, and then creatively interjects dinner party conversation to glue the book together. 3. Recipes are multinational comfort foods suitable for hosting a dinner with friends and associates. 4. Recipes are well marked as basic, medium, and hard difficulty so new cooks fresh to the kitchen can plan a multi course meal as easily as a veteran cook. 5. ALL THE RECIPES ARE SCRATCH! with exception to bottled soy sauce maybe- everything is scratch including various marinades and flavored salts.
I bought this book for my daughter, 15 and mildly interested in cooking. This book piqued her interest, namely because of the “personal touch” interjections about the characters, easy to understand instructions, and that they identified “easy” recipes for unskilled cooks. We are cooking from it this weekend!
For me, this book belongs on the shelf along side Julia Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking“ and Kian Lam Kho’s “Phoenix Claws and Jade Trees, the essential techniques of authentic Chinese cooking”

Solid cookbook!
I can't wait to try these recipes out. I'd have given it five stars, but... Sadly, there is no recipe for the homemade Fuan cheese that Devrim Kay's partner Mark makes! I dare say, Bungo missed the mark on this one.

No emblem, broken coupon, odd recipe decisions.
As others have found, the emblem code is missing, despite a sticker on the front proclaiming its presence. I am typically an emblem collector, but since the book is current $15 cheaper from Amazon, and the emblem itself is not appealing, I guess I'll keep it. The coupon for 2.69 off did not work, and the 'new item' sticker on the back of the book isn't going to come off without leaving a lot of residue.
Odd recipe choices: gentleman's shortbread is a recipe for scones, gjallardoodles have nothing in common with snickerdoodles but the name, alkane dragee cookies are covered in powdered sugar rather than anything resembling dragees, and several recipes call for almond milk despite no apparent lack of cows in the setting (other recipes use beef). There's a chicken recipe that changes to turkey partway through as well, and several of the photos show what appear to be dry or burnt meals.
Confusingly, character pages 'introducing' the recipes are also included after their given recipes, while introductions to each 'area' are included before, making the book feel jumbled and rather as if no one was sure what themes to organize by. Ana's partner is mentioned by name, while Devrim's is not mentioned at all. The Dawning treats are not all listed in the Dawning chapter, which is particularly frustrating as they're the reason I bought this book.
There are a few really clever ideas (Burnt-Edge Transit as creme brulee), and others I can't argue with despite being briefly disappointed (Radiolarian Pudding is a rice pudding when I'd hoped for tapioca, but it looks delicious, and sticking it in with Festival of the Lost makes sense as of Beyond Light). Most of the Asian inspired recipes look fantastic, and though I'm not big on green smoothies, I'm actually interested in trying Coldheart. But even a high percentage of really good recipes, assuming these turn out as well as I'm hoping, isn't enough to make up for the poor organization of the book -- or the chicken photo, which seriously turned my stomach.
All in all, it's a fun novelty, but it doesn't really stand on its own as a collector's item or as a cookbook, and anyone looking specifically for Dawning treat recipes would be better off finding more traditional recipes to adapt.
