Bet you can't guess where this is going.

Most people wouldn't believe that I bought this for a 28 year old man, but that is definitely what happened here. One fine day at a family reunion we went to a train museum. In said train museum was a gift shop that had this fantastic book "Dragon's Love Tacos" for sale. While roaming the gift shop as one does knowing you aren't going to buy anything, but you look anyway. My boyfriend (the 28 year old mentioned earlier) picked up the book and began to read aloud. Now, while I tried to stop this from happening my efforts were to no avail. Instead the whole book was read aloud to most of the family in a tiny gift shop. Now, if only that was the dandy end to the story; well it's not. So we pile up in our separate vehicles to head back to the base of the reunion. While on this trip it was constant conversation about how dragons love tacos, how it will be the new religion, how there will be a flag of a woman flying on a taco, how as leader of this new world all spicy salsa must be banned. This continued for, what I would like to say, 2 more hours (at least). So now, here I am months later, buying a children's book for an almost 30 year old man that I love dearly. All because it was one of the best times I've personally had all year. To family, to dragons, and most of all to tacos with MILD salsa!

Faulty Dragon Engineering.

Five stars for the book and 4.6 stars for the stuffed animal. The dragon with the taco stuffed animal is very cute however the taco makes the dragon side heavy and he doesn't sit up properly. I suggest they propose a counter weight taco in the other hand. Since dragons love tacos shouldn't they have two tacos?

Extra/duplicate pages in book.

We've checked this book out from the library, and my 4 year old son loved it, so we decided to buy it for him for Christmas. This book comes with a small, stuffed dragon holding a taco, and it's super cute. My son loves the dragon and plays with it quite a bit. However, there is a major issue with the book. It has extra (duplicate) pages in it. We already know how the story goes, since we've read the book before, but it does make it a little difficult to read to him, and he gets confused when looking at the book on his own. It's so disappointing that the pages aren't correct, because he REALLY loves this book. I will either ask them to send me a replacement, or I guess just cut the extra pages out so I don't have to deal with the hassle of a return. It's a great book, and the included stuffed dragon was a big hit with our kid-- just wish the book wasn't defective!! I'd have given it 5 stars had it not been for the messed up pages. I included a few pictures to help explain the issue.

Toy great. Book BAD.

My daughter loves her stuffed taco dragon and takes it everywhere.

The book though... I can't read it again. Once was enough. Once was too much. This is one of the worst books I've ever read and I read a ton. I'm also a librarian. Buying books is my job. This book is awful. It is all over the place and barely makes sense. I thought I was missing pages or thought maybe they were out of order, but a discussion with another mom and owner of the book said hers was the same. Don't buy it. There are SO MANY better books out there.

Great set for birthday gift.....dragon plush served double duty as a cake topper

My kids both adore this book and it recently became the theme for my daughter's 6th birthday party. This set was exactly what I needed. She was very happy to have her own copy of the book and the dragon plush served as a cake decoration that she was then able to keep and add to her dragon collection. (The dragon fits great on a 6" cake separator. I covered the top of the separator with scrapbook paper and taco stickers.) The price point on this is excellent. We didn't mind the smaller version of the book at all. The drawings all still look great and now we have two different sizes.

TERRIBLE CONTENT

Everything about the idea of this book set is adorable. I love the title and the cute stuffed animal. I am a Speech Therapist and do many stories with my children as I enjoy teaching with literacy. Simply put, this book is just terrible and non- comprehendible. The story line jumps from place to place without a storyline. From an adults perspective I still cannot make any sense out of this book. The language uses harsh words and statements that are not appropriate for children. I will not be using this book with my kids.

I love the book

I got this book for my home before I purchased this set for a friend. I love the book, it's cute and interesting. Fun for kids, and not too boring for adults. The book is great. But, honestly, I would skip this set with the stuffed friend unless you have a super responsible child. It's made with cheaper materials, and it won't last very long or hold up to much a kid could throw at it. If they want it as a friend to hold while reading the book, then this is okay. It will not be the stuffie your child sleeps with and loves on a lot (I wish it was). It's also very very small. I think the decision is kid dependent, but I will say I hoped for better stuffie quality. I will stick with just the book for my house.

Better than the reviews said!

Cute little story! My 6 year old and 9 year old can both read them by themselves with very minimal help! I have seen some reviews mention the quality of the dragons, but I am actually quite impressed. I was expecting trash quality with what I read. The dragons we received were well put together with nice felt fabric and nicely weighted. We bought both sets (1 and 2) and they are equally nice quality. The books are high quality as well. The pages are nice and thick compared to the thin cheap books. My son keeps asking for a book 3!

Great set!

I pre-ordered this book set because I thought my son would love it. Dragons? Awesome! Tacos? Awesome! It will be a Christmas present. It arrived neatly packaged and within two days of the release date. It looks just like the picture, very pleased with my purchase. The dragon is adorable and I can't wait to read him the book. Thanks!

Literally the worst book I’ve ever had the misfortune of reading

My god this is a HORRIBLY written book. It took me far too long to get through the whole thing because I kept flipping through the pages thinking I was missing a page or my pages were out of order or something. Nope. It’s just written so badly, I can’t emphasize this enough. There is no rhyme or reason to the book, it doesn’t use language that is beneficial for kids in any way, some pages have like a word and others have a whole rambling paragraph. It’s just one of the worst books I’ve ever been forced to read. And the dragon? I read in one of the other reviews that it looks like something you get in a kids meal and I can’t think of a better way to put it. It’s cheap and generic looking and honestly, I’ve gotten better quality plush toys from a happy meal!
Unfortunately, my husband got this book for our 3 year old and got him so hyped up about it that now it’s the only thing he wants to read every. Single. Day. Before bedtime. And he sleeps with the dang cheap dragon and takes it with him everywhere. I can only hope he loses it somewhere some day soon. Please spare yourself. This book is awful. It’s not worth the money. You’ll hate yourself for having to read it again and again and again and again and again and again. I honestly have no idea how this book has so many positive reviews. But then again so does the book with no pictures and that book was just as bad!
