I am in love with The Bodyguards of LA. In this installment Owner Ethan Cooke is falling hard for his best friend’s wife, Sarah. Two years ago, her husband was killed in action in Afghanistan, only hours after their daughter was born. Ethan in his role of family friend had been there for Sarah throughout her pregnancy and even stood in for Jake during Kylee’s birth. After Jake’s death, Ethan was there to help Sarah and her baby girl.

When Ethan kisses Sarah, the relationship is irrevocably changed and he must come face to face with his insecurities if he is to find a way for them to be together. Meanwhile a serial rapist has Sarah in his sights and it will take Ethan and the rest of his team to protect her.

I seriously enjoyed this book, but Ethan has some issues. As a family friend he is simply the best, but as a boyfriend he kind of sucks. His own family history has him second guessing himself and it was tough keeping up on which Ethan I was going to read about next. It was obvious from the first page though, that Ethan and Sarah had the potential to be a great couple. The love story provides a great background for the thriller.

This book does not skimp on the suspense. Though the reader is let into the rapist’s brain early in the book, it doesn’t slow down the story at all. He is creepy, his ability to be everywhere and manipulate/use any given situation is downright scary.

This story has a bit of something for just about everyone. A transcending friendship that is more family than friendship, as Hunter and Ethan keep their promise to look after Sarah and Kylee for the fallen Jake. A thrill a minute roller coaster ride as Ethan vies with an evil stalker to protect he woman he loves. A solid love story that tugs at the heart and, at times, infuriates. Readers will laugh and they will cry.

When Sarah lost her husband Jake at Afghanistan, it was Ethan Jake's best friend who stood with her and helped her raising Kylee her daughter. When there was a call for a father daughter dance, it was Ethan who dances with Kylee. It was always Ethan who Sarah turned up to whenever she needed someone. But things get not so smooth when Ethan realizes he has feeling towards Sarah as more than best friends. Sarah seems to reciprocate it but she is haunted by the guilt of moving on from Jake. Ethan has his own history of being from dysfunctional and broken marriage.

Things get messy when there is a serial rapist at large, who is obsessed with Sarah. Ethan can not bear to stay as just a friend to Sarah anymore but he has to be around her to keep her alive until the killer is caught. What does it take for Ethan to overcome his demons and reconcile with Sarah? Does Sarah realize there is enough place in her heart for Ethan and still can love Jake as she always has? And how do they catch the smart, intriguing and creepy killer?

My favorite character was Ethan easily, the macho guy with a sensitive kind. I loved how he was with Kylee, though I wondered which 6 year old talked like she did. I hated how Sarah and Ethan played the cat and mouse and was fervently hoping they would get together already. Beyond the romance angle, I was really interested on the serial killer. He more than intrigued me with his stalking and art of sending messages - Yes I am weird like that.

Loved this one! Sarah and Ethan are great together. The whacko in this book was a bit too sick for my liking, but I realize that this sets stuff up for book number 5, 'Waiting for Wren' and gives us some background on Ethan, who runs the bodyguard/ security company.

Another great book by Cate Beauman but Ethan was wishy washy

The bodyguard series is excellent, detailed and wonderful writing. The plot lines and characters are described in vivid detail and I really like the author's writing style. I read Forever Alexa first and was captivated. Falling for Sarah is the second book I have read in the series. Ethan appears swoon worthy but he is so wishey washy with his feelings and being in a committed relationship and this got old. I really enjoy how Ms. Beauman incorporates changing families of today and children in her stories. The bad guy was one emotionally sick disturbed human being. Sarah was so calm and serene about things and a real trooper who made Ethan work for her love. This book was excellent in a different way than Forever Alexa. I liked the characters of Ethan and Sarah but they were not as relatable as Jackson and Alexa who I absolutely adored. The suspense is heart stopping, nerve wracking, and so unbelievably outstanding. This is another page turner and again I highly recommend this series. All of the stories are connected and I loved the bodyguards, their professional competence, and intelligence.

Almost a perfect romantic suspense

Great writing! I would like to thank the author for writing a story that makes sense with no TSTL moments by the heroine or the usual negative elements found in this genre. I loved the chemistry between Ethan and Sarah. They had great moments together in the beginning. They were very playful together and so caring. Ethan is of course an Alpha. He has all the good points. He's handsome, strong, funny, very protective, and straightforward. I loved the flashbacks of how Ethan was always there for her. He was with her for everything from the pregnancy to the birth of her daughter Kylee and everything else that comes with having a baby. They were best friends who became more than that. I liked how they both loved Sarah's husband, Jake, and how Ethan stepped in as a friend to them both and helped Sarah while he was deployed outside the country. It was like Ethan and Sarah were just meant to be together.

I would have given the book one less star if Ethan had went ahead and slept with his current girlfriend/bed buddy Nicky after realizing he is attracted to Sarah and trying to forget her with Nicky. But he made the right decision. The fact that he had a relationship going in the beginning of the story with another woman made me hesitant to read it. I thought this story wouldn't be as good as the first book in the series especially because of the other woman but I actually liked this one more than the first.

The story has a really good start with the events mentioned above although this excitement changed, lessened a little when Ethan kept changing his mind near the middle about whether or not he should have a relationship with Sarah. That was the only thing I didn't enjoy too much. Other than that, it is almost perfect in the romance and suspense.
