Final Truth : The Autobiography of a Serial Killer

This is frankly one of the most interesting books ever written. I am from South Carolina and grew up in the area where Gaskins committed his so called Coastal Kills. I've read many books written about serial killers and this is truly one of the most interesting. An alternate title for this book could be "How to Raise a Serial Killer from Cradle to Grave." This book is graphic and shocking and not for the weak of stomach. Gaskins spares no details in his descriptions of his many murders and tortures. He also spares no details about the childhood that he lived before becoming the monster he grew up to be. The most amazing twist (and believe me there are plenty twists) to the story of Gaskins is that he wasn't executed by the State of South Carolina for any of the tortuous murders he claimed to have committed, he was executed by the State of South Carolina for killing an inmate who was already on death row. You will shake your head in disgust and you will shake your head in amazement as you read this book. The images left in my head after reading this book will stay with me forever. The messages left behind in this book should be debated for many years to come. As troubling as this story is, it will make you think hard about everything from crime and punishment in the United States, to the Death penalty , to the extreme gaps that exist between poverty and wealth in America. One thing is for sure, once you start to read this book, you won't be able to put it down.

Personally, I believe there are people in this world who are abosulutley unredeemable human beings. Gaskins is a perfect example of such a person. The big debate though that will forever be pondered is "Was it nature or nurture?" The world may never know, and there are many people who really don't care. Gaskins is gone forever, but if you believe his story, sadly there are many more people like him walking amonst us. Read this book.

I had to read this book twice. The first time I read it, I read it from cover to cover. The second time, I almost did the same thing. It is a straight to the point testimony of a man who has to be one of the coldest hearted people ever born. This book will make you wonder why.

The price was too high in my opinion, but I bought it anyway. It's very graphic and anyone considering buying it needs to know that. I was expecting some messed up stuff, but some of it was just whoa. I'm a Psychologist and I found it fascinating. It really shows you his pathology and is a direct window into what a serial killer thinks. I would recommend this book if you are interested in serial killers and if you are into Psychology. I just want to reiterate that this book is very graphic.

I was recommended this book by a friend who lives in SC and I must say it is excellent. I thought the idea of having Gaskins himself as narrator was excellent. I'd recommend this book to anyone who can stomach it!

I've been reading true crime for about 20 years, not much gets to me. This book did. I had to read it in spurts, because Gaskin was so evil. The way he talked about killing people was more frightening than the actual killings, not really, but sort of. To hear a man tell you about each victim, in such gruesome details can be sickening, especially when it's a child. While, I know the price is ridiculous I think it's well worth the read for anyone that loves true crime. Once you've read, you'll never forget the deplorable man.

I have read this book twice and each time I enjoyed it thoroughly. Pee Wee Gaskins tells his story in gory details, he leaves nothing to the imagination. Gaskins tales are sick, interesting, horrifying, fascinating - the book is a page-turner, it flows. The murder details in this book are so atrocious that at times I felt as if I were reading fiction written by a twisted author. The author was, indeed, more than twisted, but his book is no fiction.

I COULDNT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN I LOVED EVERY BIT OF IT. ITS SOMETHING IVE NEVER READ BEFORE. ITS JUST THAT GOOD! IF YOU PICK THIS BOOK UP I PROMISS YOU THAT YOU WONT WANT TO PUT IT DOWN! I THOUGHT IT GAVE A GREAT INSITE TO THE MIND OF A KILLER I PLAN ON BECOMEING A HOMICIDE DETECTIVE SO THIS BOOK GAVE ME A GREAT SENCE OF WHAT A KILLER IS THINKING. IF YOU DONT PICK THIS BOOK UP YOU WILL BE SORRY YOU DIDNT GET IT ITS JUST THAT GOOD!!!!!!!!!

I am considered to most of my friends to be a "death freak". I loved this book. It was extremely graphic in some places to the point of turning my stomach. I loved it!

I read a lot of books about serial killers, but this guy beats them all. A true psychopath who enjoys inflicting torture and pain.
