Description

"A 'must' for public and school libraries and a wonderful book for an individual or family to own." Horn Book"A 'must' for public and school libraries and a wonderful book for an individual or family to own." Horn Book Guide — Margret and H. A. Rey created many books during their lives together, including Curious George , one of the most treasured classics of all time, as well as other favorites like Pretzel, Spotty , and Find the Constellations . They had many pets—including two marmoset monkeys that joined them on one of their steamship journeys across the Atlantic. Committed philanthropists in their own lives, a portion of proceeds from each Curious George book sold flows to the Curious George Foundation, which funds programs for children that encourage inquisitiveness in learning and exploring. Curious George has been successfully adapted into a major motion picture and an Emmy-winning television show on PBS and “Pretzel and the Puppies,” based on their picture books, is a streaming series on Apple TV+. www.curiousgeorge.com www.pretzelandthepuppies.com

For certain locations only.

Book is fantastic, but nowhere in the discription did it state that the book was only for the upper east coast of the US. Living in the south west we may not be able to use it as expected.

great seasonal star maps

I h ave been reading about constellations and other aspects of the stars but have lost my star maps. This book tells a little about the individual constellations but shows full page of sky for each season with constellations shown by connecting lines. The facing page shows only the stars. By copying the stars only page and practicing one may learn to find and draw all the constellations just by looking at the stars.
Wonderful for any one serious about knowing the sky; and, for the amateur to study for the changes in the night sky over the year.

The best constellation book for kids

The best constellation book for kids, fun and easy to read, but a fast way to learn the sky. I got my first copy when I was a teenager, used it when I was taking Astronomy at MIT, and now a copy for my youngest grandkids. I've bought dozens of copies of this book (and its big brother) for kids and grandkids, nieces and nephews, friends, and myself.

This book is a big hit with my daughter!

My daughter loves this book. In her words:

"This book is really cool. It helps me learn my constellations and I enjoy tracing them from the book. It's really fun looking up the stars in peoples' horoscopes."

Classic keeper! Makes star finding easy.

Have always loved this book. The original version used to show the way the constellations are traditionally shown and then present an alternative way of looking at them which looks like it's supposed to be. This up-to-date edition doesn't even bother with the old versions. H.A. Ray's make much more sense anyway. The book also includes other information regarding when to see different stars and planets in the northern skies, and information about star magnitudes.
