Sandlewood and Citrus

This is such a cute read. The subject matter is serious but it is the comfort and support Elizabeth receives from our pemberley stallion that made it cute. I do wish there was a bit more edge to it. I know your all probably gasping at my words but I like that sense of danger before our H rides on the scene.

In this one the action and battle is over physically it is the emotional state that Lizzy is left in that encompasses the story. Not to make that sound as though it's nothing being attacked in a place you've visited a 1000 times would a a scary thing. To think of how a person would remember how innocent those times were and to be brought into a world where now everything brings fear is so hard to imagine. It's like a person that's had a car accident and from then on your overly cautious even if it wasn't your fault. Now let's toss in Lizzy berating herself because she thought the man was trustworthy. You would question every decision from then on.

Darcy is a dream with his gentle embraces but confident demeanor. I just have to say I wanted to see Darcy take him on but alas the approach in this book is very mild. The author shields all of us readers from the violence only painting those brief images. But if you are like me it is those moments in books that get your heart pumping that you want. I'm not saying I want to see Elizabeth defiled but I love Brenda Webbs work she brings it to the pages and you need a warning label. Lol. I know not all of us readers crave the intensity and drama but at least one does. I still loved the emotion felt between D&E it added depth especially at one point in the book when Lizzy questions what kind of wife she'd make for Darcy. She worried she'd push him away remembering the past attack. My oh my ladies Darcy's reassuring speech is swoon worthy. It's been said before but I'll say it again they just don't make men like Darcy anymore. I really want to get some sandlewood and citrus candles to burn at my house now. Enjoy!
