Description

New York Times and USA Today Bestseller/contemporary romance writer Samantha Chase released her debut novel, Jordan's Return, in November 2011. Although she waited until she was in her 40's to publish for the first time, writing has been a lifelong passion. Her motivation to take that step was her students: teaching creative writing to elementary age students all the way up through high school and encouraging those students to follow their writing dreams gave Samantha the confidence to take that step as well. When she's not working on a new story, she spends her time reading contemporary romances, playing way too many games of Scrabble or Solitaire on Facebook and spending time with her husband of 25 years and their two sons in North Carolina.

Wonderful girl's night book

This was my first Samantha Chase book to read but it just quenched my thirst to read more of her books. The synopsis of this book was about 4 girls who met at the age of 5 and were still friends 20 years later. Hailey was the sensible one, Angie was the loud one, Ella was the sweet one, and Becca was the shy one. They performed in 500 shows for Hailey's mom who runs a wedding boutique. Samantha Chase developed her characters so well that I wanted to be friends with all 4 of them. I liked how at the beginning each character held their own label but by the end of this book they all morph into each other's label. I thought at the beginning I related to Hauley because she's the sensible one but I realized I had a little of Angie, Ella , and Becca in me. I loved how they kept a tradition of going out every Saturday morning for breakfast over 20 years. This is a book you should read if you want to be there for the highs and lows of each girl that life throws at you. I was captivated by the very first chapter and read it in one evening.

Excellent book about life, friendship & weddings!

I honestly loved this book. I won a free copy from Samantha Chase. This is the first of her books I have read, but it won't be the last! From the moment I started reading yesterday I couldn't put this book down. I loved the characters! I felt that Ms. Chase gave us well developed characters that I as the reader felt like I knew them. Yes I loved the romance in this book, but have to say the friendship of the Friday Night Brides is something to be envied. To have 4 women be best friends from childhood on and remain as close as they do is amazing. I cried with them, I laughed with these characters and I cheered for them! I just want to say I have been in a reading slump lately. This book took a hold of me and I couldn't wait to read every word! For that I thank you Ms. Chase!

Friday Night Brides

3.5 stars

Friday Night Brides are a book focused on four friends, who are modeling wedding dresses every Friday night. They also happen to find love at the same time, with the exception of Ella, who found her a long time ago.

At first I was very excited about the possibility of reading their stories in one book since I would have to wait for the others, but the excitement deflected once I realized how much I was missing when something was happening to one girl and the story at the time and I was reading about what was happening to another.

What bothered me the most was Ella. I just couldn't understand why she was acting like she did. She was sprouting things that to me seemed ridiculous and it puts me off. All of them have issues abed they work them out in this book, but as I mentioned above due to the multiple point of views. I didn't get to see the whole process. Aside from the Ella thing and the four points of views, I liked this book a lot. If it were a box set with 4 novellas instead of 1 full length novel, I think things would have worked out better.
