“While reading this book my heart went into atrial fibrillation; it’s that good! After I finished it, I couldn't sleep. There's nothing like it. It is truly from God. I gave it to my researcher. After reading it, he was so excited he was ready to get on a plane, take it to pastors and make them read it while he sat there.” ( Bill Fay, author/evangelist (Share Jesus Without Fear) )“This book rocked my world! It forever changed my view of the gospel and ignited a passion for the lost.” ( Kirk Cameron )“This book will rock your world.xa0 I beg you to read it.” ( Todd Friel, Wretched TV )“The teachings in this book have changed my life and ministry forever. I can’t imagine the revival that would take place if every believer put these Biblical methods of evangelism into practice. I love this book because it ignited a passion in me for the Book!” ( Jamie Statema, founding member of the music group “Go Fish” )“If you have a limited time to read books, make this one of them.xa0To say thatxa0it is life-changingxa0is anxa0understatement.” ( Joseph Farah, WorldNetDaily ) “While reading this book my heart went into atrial fibrillation; it’s that good! Features & Highlights

  • Why do 9 out of 10 children raised in Christian homes leave the Church?
  • Why do many professing Christians show little or no evidence for their faith?
  • Why do 80-90% of those making decisions for Christ fall away from the faith?
  • For decades, the world’s most popular gospel message has been drawing the lost by promising God’s wonderful plan for their life. But behind the facade of the “wonderful plan” message is the reality of the trials, temptation, and persecution that Jesus promised. How can we reconcile the two?
  • In this life-changing book, best-selling author Ray Comfort explores whether this common gospel approach aligns with real life―and with Scripture. The vital biblical principles he reveals will force you to reexamine your ideas about the gospel―and will teach you how to reach unbelievers the way God intended. A must-read for all who care about the lost.

A Must Read For ... Everyone

This book is very short (124 pages), but extremely powerful. It should be read by everyone.

Ray Comfort has exposed the very poor, unscriptural, and ineffective (in the long term) approach that so many Christians use when presenting the Gospel. Although many, if not most, tend to woo others to Christianity by presenting the case that becoming a Christian will make life wonderful, Mr. Comfort uses a completely different tactic. He actually starts with the holiness of God, the sin of humans and the terror of hell like Jesus and the apostles did. He makes the case that only after realizing their sinful condition and repenting should new believers start thinking about the love and grace aspects of Christ.

Too many Christians today use a completely backward approach to evangelism. In this book, Comfort shows that way leads to countless numbers of backsliders and those who eventually walk away from the faith. Life is hard and Jesus makes it clear that things are no different for Christians in that regard.

Althought this may make many uncomfortable, that is probably a good thing.

I recommend that every Christian read this book and buy a couple of copies to pass to others.

Biblical explanation of 1 Timothy 1:8-10 like you've never heard

This is an excellent book, for the following reasons:

1. Its brevity. 128 pages.
2. Its clarity. Mr. Comfort has one theme and one theme only.
3. Its truth. Really, the cover destroys the "God has a wonderful plan" idea. Look at the picture! It is tragic in one sense, blessed in another (the martyr goes to be with the Lord), and hilarious when juxtaposed with the "God has a wonderful plan" message. The book simply elaborates on the contradiction between the modern message and the reality for thousands of Christians through church history. Or as the author says, read Foxe's Book of Martyrs.
4. Its solution: preach the law first; then, if (and only if) the hearer asks "what shall I do?," preach the gospel. That's what Peter did on Pentecost.

God's plan for me was different than most

For most of my first 30 years, I was a selfish sort. Always looking out for #1 (and hopefully not stepping in #2).

Then I let Jesus touch me.

Jesus saw who I was and didn't judge me. He came to me in my room one night and said he'd forgiven all my sins, including but not limited to: coveting my neighbor's wife (and his mother-in-law, who still has quite a figure for a woman in her 60s), bearing false witness against the cashier at the Piggly Wiggly -- I do admit she did not double charge me for 3 lbs of American cheese, taking the Lord's name in vain when the Giants kicked a meaningless field goal to cover the spread and cost me $1,000. $1,000 that I didn't have by the way, so I went down to the Laundramat and tried to jimmy open the change machine. Well, I cut my thumb pretty bad so I had to go to the hospital. It was there that I saw myself for who I was, because I had undressed completely and there was a full length mirror in the examination room.

The nurse asked me why I was totally undressed when only my hand was cut and I just said, "Shhh. This is God's plan for me." She understood instantly and did not bother me again. They stitched me up pretty quickly after that and they didn't even notice when I gave them a fake name. I don't even look like a "Jorge T. Junior" so I feel that God put a spell on them so they wouldn;t ask any hard questions.

Spot on indictment of Pop-Theology.

Passed to me by a friend. Spot on and should wake every slumbering Christian and pastor that is being fed a steady diet of pop theology. Many will cry Lord, but will not enter in.

Powerful and insightful. If you are a Christian you should read this.

This is a condensed version of Ray's book "The Way of the Master". Anyone who reads this book will be challenged about how they share their faith. Ray is a great writer and even better speaker. I highly recommend going to [...]and listening to "Hell's Best Kept Secret" and "True and False Conversion" there free before reading this book. Not that you can't read this book first. Yet, some reading this might think Ray is to much of a hard nose. When you hear him preach you hear that he is both passionate and one of the wittiest and funny speakers on such deep subjects as evangelism as you'll ever hear. He is no curmudgeon. He is passionate for God to be glorified and people to be saved. I think that comes across well in this book but even more so in his sermons. Enjoy and spread the book around!
