First story is about a transsexual

The first story is about a transsexual. Really? Is this what you want your 1st grader reading as a bedtime story? A warning that content is not appropriate for all readers should be included!

Great read for girls of all ages - best one in this series of books

I purchased this book for my two girls. They absolutely love it! It is a great read with short overviews. It is full with stories of accomplishments from well known, as well as just ordinary diverse women and girls around the globe. I thought the stories about some of the younger changemakers were especially motivating. One story was particularly inspiring. Shaine Kilyun from Minnesota is non other than a hero. What an amazing, kindhearted, and inspiring individual at such a young age!! Wish there were more teens and adults such as her in this sad world. I am sure she will continue to impact more lives. This book is one of the best in the Rebel Girls series.

Absolute Garbage

I bought this for my seven year old. I could not be more disappointed with stories promoting trans gender crap in a children’s book. How does this crap make it into Children’s books now!? And without any warning it was in there. Let children be children and stop trying to manipulate them with this garbage. Absolute garbage. What a waste of money!

Agenda

These are not bedtime stories. This is an agenda pushed on children. Someone gave it to my ten year old as a gift. We returned it very fast. Protect your babies.

Disappointing

I should have looked closer at the contents. Some of the people represented in this book are not the role models I’d like for my granddaughter who I bought this book for.

Educational and inspiring

My granddaughter wanted this for Christmas and I am so glad that I was able to get it for her. It is really a great book for girls. Lots of stories of ladies, including young girls that can give girls someone to look up to, and inspire them to do their best

Dangerous messaging to our girls

This book is problematic in many ways. The message of being a rebel to amount to anything, particularly “whatever you want to be,” is false. It just isn’t a truthful book. Some of the stories are great and appropriate. But many are not. Steer clear.

Not Appropriate

Not appropriate for the age advertised and very, very extreme messages.
