Her Last Affair: A Novel

It’s easier to write a review for a book I didn’t care for. But, for all the criticism I can offer on writing and plot, etc. I can also say that I liked the book. Some twists and turns and I liked how he brought it together. Definitely an entertainment read and kept me going until the end. Which, for some reason, has been terrible problem for me lately. I might’ve rated this a two or three but the fact is… Well… It’s only fair to rate it a four and recommend it when you’re ready for a read for entertainment purposes only! Enjoyed it a good deal.

I have to admit I was caught up in this but, struggled to make heads or tails of it. It was really hard to understand why Skyla got so screwed up. Having a family member who has severe acne, Jeremy’s story made me so sad. I think it’s unfortunate to imply that all folks who aren’t “pretty” turn into psychos. Left me feeling kinda sick. And sad.

I kept flipping pages for about 75% of the book and then I couldn’t put it down. Very strong ending, if you are willing to suffer through.

I think it might have been a good plot. However, the pieces never came together for me. I couldn't even make out what the meaning was behind the book. Lost love, revenge, reliving the past. No, for me it just never made much sense.

Psychological thriller that had me glued to this page turner.
Skyla, Teddy, Jeremy and Linelle all have one thing in common, they are looking for lost loves, to reconnect with their past. They each go about it in very, very different ways. The twists in the story keeps you on your toes. Just when you think you have a grasp, it twists again leaving you grasping and gasping to get a hold on what is happening.

Skyla has recently lost her sight. She lives next door to a rundown drive-in movie theater which she and her husband ran for years. She decides to rent the cottage next door to a Teddy Cornwell. Skyla just loves his accent! Teddy is currently trying to lure an old girlfriend, Linelle away from her boring marriage. So, this seems the perfect place. Then there is Jeremy. Jeremy is a restaurant critic. His next job is Providence, RI. This town holds some unique memories and quite a few he wants to relive.

Now that I have introduced all the characters…let’s get to the meat of the story! This novel starts a bit slow, but that is just the introduction to the characters…so stay with it. Because it sure builds and builds…until the intensity does not stop and you just have to see where it is going to end.

I think my favorite character is Skyla. She is not at all what you think! And I love the way the author throws in some humor. What a great way to keep the story moving and the reader engrossed.

I enjoyed ths novel very much..interestng charactors and situatons. won't give anythingaway but no dogs are harmed. Took it n vacation and fnished intwo days.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat. It's plot is interesting, and kept me intrigued during the whole book.

Wild, wild ride of a read with twists and turns and threads and knots that tie up to create a cast of characters too exaggerated to be real, but too credible to dismiss. When this ride ends, it has indeed driven full circle.

I enjoyed this book but found it very confusing. Because of all the back and forth I’m not really sure of who was who and what actually happened. I need someone to explain it to me.
