Hilarious, everything I hoped it would be

Got this for my husband, who doesn’t read but I’m hoping will love the easy quick ideas. I laughed out loud several times while flipping through and got some ideas for myself too :) We have 3 yo twins.

Great gift idea for new parents or parents of young kids

A hilarious yet ultimately practical guide for dealing with rambunctious kiddos when you're beat. I've unwittingly played some of these games with my toddler in the past when exhausted, like their version of hide and seek, which I referred to as 'Go fish hide and seek'. I'd rattle off where he might be hiding and he'd yell 'go fish!' until I got the right location. Glad to see another ingenious parent invented essentially the same game, just wish I had written about it first!

Great gift idea for new parents or parents of young kids, especially if paired with a gift for the kid(s) that can be used in some of the 'games' from the book, like train toys that can be used in a back massage during 'Railroad to relaxation'

More practical than I expected

I thought this was just a novelty book but many of the activities really work for keeping kids entertained while lying down. Great gift for parents of toddlers.

Perfect for Parents

I was reading Horizonal Parenting last night and laughing out loud! It’s an entire book of entertaining your kids all while lying down. Games from Dream Charades, Couch Potato and Don’t Wake the Giant are all things you can do while sitting on the couch. Is it just me or is this idea genius? It’s might sound lazy but what I love about it, is that it’s a creative way to play. There are no screens or batteries needed, so your child can use their imagination and these are the types of games that help with problem solving and not losing to a video game.

If you have kids you need this book! If you need a Christmas idea for family or friends this is a perfect one!

Hilarious and actually useful!

I bought this book for a friend with young twins knowing how exhausted she must get. It gave us both a laugh and she messaged me later to say how much she loves this book. I read the whole thing before giving it to her and months later I put the ideas to use myself. After a long day I got home and practically fell onto the living room carpet, totally spent. My 6 year old immediately ran over and sat on my tummy… I realized it was the perfect time to use an idea from this book! We played “what’s on my butt?” and another one that I don’t remember the title of (picture is on the book cover though) where she used my legs like a digger while I verbally made lots of vehicle noises. My daughter hasn’t giggled so much while playing with me in a very long while! This was quality time spent together, fully engaging and entertaining her while I expended almost zero energy. All a kid wants is your full attention, it almost doesn’t matter what you do together while giving it to them. The author is a genius!!
