Once you realize you always had a choice your life will change

The first time I stepped into a classroom was in 1996 to get my GED, and then proceeded to further educate myself the following year.

One class I decided to take was psychology, specifically Personal Growth.

This book was assigned to the classroom. I still have it. I don’t remember what edition it was but safe to say it was 22 years ago. This is the 11th.

At the time I could not remember the last time I actually sat down and looked at anything of greater length than a brief newspaper article.

This was not an easy read for me. The authors Gerald Corey and Marianne Schneider-Corey who are both psychiatric professionals force the reader to confront themselves.

When I finished the semester and the book, I came to the realization that being a product of your own environment can only influence you so much.

The rest YOU CHOOSE WHO YOU WANT TO BE.

Every one of us has a choice.

My partner and a few people also had a hand in telling me that it’s up to me if I wanted to get my act together.

If you ever get a chance if you don’t know about this publication, I strongly suggest you look at it.

I am glad it is still in being printed and used in educational institutions.

Good book, using this text in a social work practicum class as a reflection tool. Thought it was going to be a boring class at first but am learning quite a bit about myself.
