Kate

I received this as a Christmas gift from my wife. It is a fantastic book with some absolutely stunning photos, most I have never seen before. My favorite photo is a full page shot of her wearing no make up with the two dogs from the Hounds of Love photo session. My only complaint is some of the photos are fairly small on the page, leaving a lot of white space.

Currently there are no reviews of this book, so I'm just going to share a few brief details that may encourage other interested fans who are unsure about this purchase.

If you're reading this I'm going to assume you're already familiar with "Cathy" -- I think Cathy was released when I was in high school & just discovering the music of Kate Bush. I certainly couldn't afford it then, and I can hardly justify buying a first printing of it now. Luckily, it was reprinted last year, so fans were finally able to afford -- well, what amounts to the Holy Grail as far as Kate collectibles go. This book serves as a continuation of the first -- only much more monumental material-wise.

I wasn't too sure what to expect from this book -- I suspected more commentary on Kate's career and possibly her concert last year. But this book is largely photos, most of which (probably 70-80%) I have never seen before. Maybe I'm not as thorough as some fans, but there was A LOT of new material here for me to marvel over. Kate's brother was obviously on set for most of the video shoots, and there are plenty of album cover test shots as well. Some of my favorite pictures in this book are the test shoots for the Hounds Of Love album cover -- I couldn't help but smile.

John Carder Bush does offer some commentary here and there, but it's not per photo as it is with "Cathy". As usual, his insights are delightful.

If there's anything for me to complain about here, it's the binding. It seems loose -- although it's entirely possible that it's loose to make it easy to open & lay flat. So -- no reason to knock off a star. The book is very well constructed, although it does not come shrink-wrapped and may get scuffed during shipping.

"Kate" is well worth the asking price for fans.

This is very much something only a Kate completist would want. Yes, there are some unseen outtakes, but nothing astonishing. Also, be aware that there are only FOUR photos in the book that are newer than 1994. There is *nothing* here from the Before The Dawn live shows, and to be honest, there's something a bit insulting and sad about seeing Kate gradually disappear below the neck as she ages (and no longer meets commercial standards of thinness and female beauty.)

Beautiful, unseen photos and a great narrative from Kate's brother. Excellent present, probably my favorite of Christmas 2015.

I was floored with how beautiful this book was. So many photos I had never seen before. A must for Kate fans.

Received in Damaged condition due to Cheap packaging , but an Amazing book . Im a Collector and the book arrived in Less than Mint condition.

Finally back in print, this is a must have for fans. Beautiful pictures and nicely bound.

OMG! These photos are just stunning. I'm so glad that her eldest brother had the wherewithal to start documenting her beauty.

Ahhh. Kate. I read every word of this visually stunning book, in a few hours. And now have it sitting on a book display on my media cabinet.

This is a loving and elaborate tribute to Kate Bush, the innovative pop music star--it's a clear-eyed overview of her career, which still allows this reclusive celebrity to keep her privacy. Very well done! Recommended!
