Read for a solid intellectual understanding of Esotericism

As a Thelemite, I find this book absolutely essential for understanding the roots of our practice. The first chapter on the Foundations of Western Magic alone is worth the price of the book. It gives context to an otherwise overwhelming and sometimes very confusing spiritual system of development. Anyone interested in developing a serious intellectual foundation of the Western Esoteric Tradition will no go wrong with this book. And I'm sure that it will serve as a reference and a springboard for further study with the helpful bibliography at the end of each chapter for years to come.

Basic General Information

Reads like a very basic introduction. Should be titled "A Brief Overview of Ceremonial Magick". I had hoped this would be "one book to rule them all" especially since the authors are well known leaders, but no there's not really much here. Maybe for a young person that has no familiarity with these topics this would be good. If you are looking for a tome of rituals and practical information this is not. Nope.
