Great read

Even though statistics is not usually an interesting read, I found this book very informative and easy to follow. I read it in conjunction with an online course but feel it can "'stand alone." The format is clear and explanations by the author practical and easy to follow. I was already familiar with most of the subject matter having been subjected to three different statistics courses during my undergraduate and graduate education, but Dr. Nisbett's presentation by far the most easy to take.

Inferences, Beliefs, and Insights.

The most important message of Mr. Nisbett in this book: "Our beliefs are often badly mistaken, we're way too confident about our ability to acquire new knowledge that accurately characterizes the world, and our behavior often fails to advance our interests and those of people we care about."

The chapter summaries are very useful in focusing on the specific insights.
