Don't waste your dough
I don't know the author personally, but from what I see on TV, I really don't like her personality at all. THat being said, I thought I would give her the benefit of the doubt considering that she had a co-writer for this project and a good story.
What a let down. There was virtually nothing new revealed in this book. I think if you know the story about her father than you can safely assume what her family must have gone through. I have seen interviews where the author says that she felt it was time for her to tell HER story, but all these years later, honestly, who cares? Maybe if this book provided some true insight I'd feel differently, but it didn't. This is all a lot of fluff and I think she either just needed some money or its just a vehicle for her to move onto "bigger" things like Celebrity Apprentice or a new line of this or that.
She seems like she has some serious mental problems and anger issues and comes across as quite the narcissist. I think if anything her ego may need to be put in check if she thinks the world wants to know her side of what is essentially her dad's story (contrary to what she repeatedly says in interviews...that this is HER story. Its not.).
I'd say either wait for this to be deeply discounted, borrow it from a friend or get it from the library.

RICK "SHAQ" GOLDSTEIN SAYS: **RAT-DAUGHTER**
One of the largest subject classifications in my personal library is the section regarding criminal psychology, profiling, serial killers, law enforcement and organized crime. That is obviously the reason I bought this autobiography by Karen Gravano, the daughter of Sammy "The Bull" Gravano **THE BIGGEST RAT IN THE HISTORY OF ORGANIZED CRIME!!** Of all the books I've read in the aforementioned category... this is probably the worst one. In fact I don't believe any of the others I previously read could even be classified as bad. In no particular order of importance the following items should be pointed out to a potential reader: there are innumerable typos... there are endless "WOE-IS-ME" throughout the book... and one page the woe-is-me is because Daddy is a feared criminal... then the woe-is-me is that Daddy is in jail so I don't have everybody bending over backwards to wait on me hand and foot... and everybody isn't shivering in their boots... and then Daddy breaks every rule ever written or unwritten regarding loyalty to the Cosa Nostra about never ratting out his Mafia brothers... so that crushes the Mafia Princess... since she was raised to not tattle on her brother and vice versa... then the world is so mean because they don't understand that daddy-rat did the **HONORABLE** thing by ratting... then there could be "hit-teams" out to kill any and all members of our loving family.
One minute all the author wants is to make it in the straight world... then she's prouder of herself than if she discovered the cure for cancer because she has a marijuana sales and delivery service... ("I TOOK PRIDE IN BEING A DRUG DEALER, MAKING MY OWN MONEY AND HAVING PEOPLE LOOK UP TO ME.")... then later on she's crying the blues because she "innocently" gets busted along with her entire family for being involved in an ecstasy selling business.
At times it's disgusting how delusional she is when the newspapers' are plastered with the announcement that her father is going to squeal like a stuck pig-rat... and had "THE NAMES OF DAD'S NINETEEN MURDER VICTIMS ON TOMBSTONES." The lack of any true... sustained... empathy for the victims and their families make the reader shake their head in disbelief as to the incredulity of the self-centered-contradictions and complete disassociation from any true humanity. To add an almost comical insult-to-injury regarding the author and this book... there are eight pages of barely run of the mill pictures (compared to other crime books) in the book... and the last picture is "a drawing of Al Capone that Sammy completed while incarcerated"... if... after looking at the drawing of Capone... you turn back to the prior page upper right corner, there is a picture of the author... and if you either imagine Capone without the hat... or the author with the hat... they look eerily similar... just saying. That's the type of book it is.

Fill In The Pages...
I'm sorry but if you're going to write a book and call it yours, you don't pull pages out of someone else's writing and throw that into yours. As you read the book, right in the middle of a sentence, words are crossed out and left for blank. This runs throughout the book. another problem, one moment she is writing about an incident, and all of a sudden, it skips the story and moves on to something completely different. I can't blame Karen Gravano for the problems, but I can blame the co-Author as she should have done her job and repaired these problems before the book was sent to be published. Why have a co-Author if she/he fails to perform the most important job they are responsible for? Now, onto her father. I don't understand how she can say her father was a great role model, and a loving parent when he killed animals in the presence of his young children? Her father went after a duck when Karen was just a young child. He pulled the duck's feathers out and grabbed a hold of the duck's neck and broke it. Another incident, her father pulled a rifle out while sitting with his son at the family pool, and forced his son who was a very young boy, to shoot the birds. Karen Gravano proudly responds that if her father had given her the rifle, she would have gladly shot 60 birds. Years later, of course, her father ran a drug dealing business and the loving father recruited his children to help him sell the drugs. Where did they find their customers? Schools. Her father is a child abuser and it's no wonder why Karen and her brother would fail to recognize their father as such a man. Karen and her brother don't know any better. Ask yourself, did your father kill harmless animals and force you to watch? Karen liked that. She said so. I would never trust her around animals. Her father is a coward. Anybody can kill a defenseless animal.

Poorly written and boring
Karen Gravano's book is poorly written and boring. If you watch the show you already know everything she is going to say. In her desire to appear tough and powerful she comes across as an entitled, spoiled brat. She repeatedly claims she needs to tell "her story" and not that of her father but the whole book is about him, rarely offering any insight into what she herself was going through. Her vocabulary is limited and the entire book seems to have been written for elementary school children. If you want to know more about "the life" I would recommend buying Victoria Gotti's book instead.

3 Little Pigs
I have more respect fpr her father for telling the truth during all those trials. Than I will ever for poor little Karen, whom with her mother & brother were nothing but x-tasy selling hipocrites. They stayed back on Staten Island when dad went away to jail. But after all his testimony & jail time. The minute he got out, they ran to him & all his ill gotten gains that your gov. let him keep. Then they went on to buy the x-tascy that he would bring back from brooklyn every week & they would sell it to school kids in & around the tempe Az. area for years. Then when it all fell apart again, Dad Sammy tppk most of the rap for his family & got aprox. 15 more years in jail. While his wife, whom he opened a resteraunt for in Scottsdale ,Az. Name the best kept secret & his kids all the best in life. To hook up with some white surpremesist kids & pollute the whole city with their junk!! She always tries to make it out to be she was like an outsider to what went on, but to this day she is still making money with this book.NO ONE SHOULD BUY BECAUSE IT IS GIVING IN TO A BRAT THAT LIVES OFF THE BLOOD OF HER & EVERYONE IN HER FAMILLY. Thank god that Drita can get away from them without having to be diss-owned by a rat bunch of drug dealing murder's!! Tell daddy in his next 15 minute monthly call that Bog Pete & the real Gonzo send their regards from HELL, since he had them killed for stealing cars on his block back in the early 90's back on 18 ave. & Frankie carbonaro is holding the gate in hell open for the familly..
It's because of what Sammy Gravano did by testyfieing that helped many of us do the right thing & tell the truth about the life we was born in to. I am just glad my uncle sam helped me escape it many years ago. For that I will always love sammy, But not Karen who is making money off of her father. Thats why she don't talk to him or have custody of her daughter any more...Love & Good Health to ALL

Please!!!
She is riding on her father's coat tails and before she tries to come across as an author, I think she needs to get a bit more education behind her. She comes across as she does on the TV series, one with no class and no talent for speaking and in this case no talent for writing.

What A WA$TE... BUY Her Father's UNDERBOSS Book Instead
A WA$TE of MONEY, TIME & EYESORE!!! This book is all about her father Salvatore Gravano aka Sammy The Bull aka The Once True Straight-Arrow Mobster's Mobster aka The Hardworking Construction Boss aka The Homicidal Maniac who was forced to kill his Own Brother-in-Law aka The Fallon Rat who I know regrets not killing John Gotti the News Paparazzi Loving Mob Boss who had a large sausage hand in bringing down the once powerful Gambino Crime Family.
I figured before I bring salt on this book I should give Karen the benefit of the doubt and buy this book. Well I read it & PUT $$ in Her pocket so I feel I am more than entitled to dragged this garbage book under the bus & drive over it.
BY ALL MEANS I Bought and Like her father Sammy Gravano's UNDERBOSS Biography by Peter Maas, and the movie "Witness To The Mob" is in my Top 5 All Time Mafia Movies List(of course after Godfathers 1&2), so I do know a bit about her father's life from what he has said.
I do give her credit for warning the reader on the cover stating "The Mafia, SAMMY THE BULL GRAVANO, and Me!", she did in fact let us know the book was moreso about her father. But the MAJORITY of it!!! Come on!
In my opinion, she was a spoiled brat who reaped the benefits of Daddy's power, friends & wealth until he turned state's evidence. She claims repeatedly about being in "This Lifestyle" in her book & on Mob Wives(which I DVR every week), BUT WHAT LIFESTYLE? Being Daddy's princess? You are not a Gangster, You are not a Co-Defendant nor Co-Conspirator to ANY Gangster, You are not even married to a Gangster. Selling weed during peace time & bragging about it is NOT Gangster! Lynda Milito's(the widow of Louie Milito, one of Sammy the Bull's close friend & murder victim) Book "Mafia Wife" was an inside look into what being a Co-Defendant in "THIS LIFESTYLE" was about.
Majority of this book was copy & paste words from Her father's book, but dumb down & spoken from an arrogant hypocrite aka Never Was-Been(YEAH I Said IT!), who at times seems to be putting words in her Daddy's mouth to justify his crimes while still living off his good days, person who gives New Yorkers specifically New York Italians a bad name.
I knew that at some point Karen will throw Drita under the bus. She claims that Drita didn't want to co-star on Mob Wives for fear of what the world will think about her marrying Karen's ex-boyfriend blah blah blah, eventhough Drita is a co-star, with Her own life, family & friends. After finish reading this book I now understand why Karen is obviously soooOOOO jealous of Carla & Drita. I will continue to watch & support Mob Wives, but with disgust for Princess Karen and Queen Ramona aka "I lived in Dubai in a Palace or two with inferior butlers, maids & midwives so I'm better than You & Her & Them" aka "I hate Drita because the streets(literally the concrete) of Staten Island keeps telling me that Drita keeps hating on Me". On a better note, Ramona is pretty......pretty good for a mistress, because of that uuUGLY inside.
TEAM DRITA
Enough said, BUY UNDERBOSS by SAMMY GRAVANO & PETER MAAS--INSTEAD of THIS USELESS FIREPLACE WOOD

This is an absolutely horrendous book. This idiot wants to make money for all the stupid things she thought where cute while growing up. She needs to worry about her daughter and how to raise her. Drita should definitely whip her ass. She deserves it. Don't buy this trash. Run on sentences, all over the place dumb book. Throw all copies in the garbage.

Horrible! Don't waste your time.
It's obvious she wrote the book because she is on a "reality" show and looking to make money. Waste of money and time. No story here.

The Boring, the Yawn-Inducing, and Me.
I, like many other people, follow Mob Wives religiously. I don't know much about her father's history, and even then I found this book boring. The book is poorly written. The sentences are choppy. The thoughts are scattered. A lot of the ideas are contradictory. I think she should have given more control to another, more talented writer. To think she could have written it herself just did not work at all. I really regret purchasing this book. The only time you should buy it is when it's on the 80 percent off table at Barnes and Noble. I'm sure it'll make it's way their shortly.
