Features & Highlights

  • Harness the power of the magical, mystical, glorious Moon with more than 100 spells, chants, and rituals, along with Esbat celebrations for the Full Moon.
  • The Moon is one of our most prominent and ancient symbols. It has shaped how we understand and track time, its movement controls the tides, and its rise into the sky signals the coming of night. The distinct phases of the lunar cycle have associations with different states of being. These states mirror a kind of spiritual quest which, like our search for ourselves, never ends. When we observe the Moon, we
  • see reflections of the grand pattern of life
  • that is birth, death, and rebirth.
  • With this invaluable handbook filled with
  • enchantingly beautiful illustrations
  • ,
  • follow the Moon as she traverses each sign of the zodiac
  • and discover how each astrological phase affects magic—and how your personal Moon sign affects your magical work. The discussions include
  • the influence of the seldom-discussed energies
  • of the Blue Moon, the Black Moon, and lunar eclipses.
  • Each Moon phase is explored individually
  • to cover the phase’s main themes along with Moon rituals, intention setting, and practical ways to celebrate and manifest health, wealth, and confidence. With specific suggestions for each phase, you’ll discover a variety of
  • tools for harnessing moon magic

Definitely worth picking up a copy

A fantastic book with simple yet ACTUALLY USEFUL spells, meditations, affirmations, and rituals. It's very easy to follow and straight to the point and actually tells you how to use herbs, crystals and candles in relation to the moon phases. Very cool. I love it! Also, its cover and interior design is spectacular! Such a visually stimulating book! Gets me feeling the witchy vibe for sure!

I Have Mixed Feelings

I'll try to break my thoughts down this way:

The Things I like:

It's an adorable little book. It's well bound and nice quality. The cover is really pretty and makes you feel like you're holding something special.

It has a potpourri of fun topics, from crystals and herbs, to tarot to spells, astrology & more.

It's a really sweet book to browse through with a cup of tea, you can open to any page and read some neat little tidbit. Great for rainy day browsing.

It's a good supplemental book to have along with others in your witchy library.

It would be a very cute gift for a witchy friend. The quality and style make it a great gift and it's general enough subject matter to be suitable for any of your witchy or magic-oriented friends. It's very lighthearted, nothing heavy or dark.

Things I Don't Like So Much:

I think the word "handbook" in the title isn't ideal. I got the impression that it would be more of a "how to" or "go to" book that would explain things in depth. It's not that at all. It's more of a "sampler"; it touches on various topics but only very briefly. It's not at all in depth on anything, it's really more of a 'browsing book' for fun.

There's very little information on the moon phases. At a glance there seems to be a lot, but it appears in various sections; "moon phases and herbs" or "moon phases and crystals" - and even then it's very brief. This might be fine for some people, but I was looking for more in-depth info on activities and the moon; ie what activities are best during certain phases, when to start projects, when to rest etc. There's only 2 short pages on that with only a couple of sentences for each phase. To me this isn't really useful.

The spells are very basic, just little sayings. It's not a complaint exactly, but it's definitely beginner-oriented. There's a nice variety of spells but they're very simple and rituals aren't included for each spell.

It's a bit randomly organized. The very thing that makes it such a quaint book also frustrates me a little bit. It's not setup in an order that makes sense to my mind; it seems to jump around a lot. One page is crystals and then 'colors' and then astrological stuff, there's no real continuity. Like I said above, it's cute to browse if you want to read little tidbits of lore, tips etc., but it's not practical as a reference and I would not consider it a 'handbook'.

Tiny print. Much of the book is in teeny-weeny font, which might be fine if you're 22, but for anyone of reading-glasses age, it's less than ideal.

I hate to be so critical, it really is a very cute little book. Had someone given me this as a gift I would enjoy it. But the price is pretty high for the level of content, at least for my needs. Had it been half the price maybe I'd be less critical, but it's a lot to pay for cuteness. That being said, I didn't return it and I do get a good vibe when I hold it; it's one of those books that feels good in the hands. So I'll keep it in my witchy library.

To the point with no ego

Many magic books get caught up in the ego of the author, this book does not do that. It is to the point and delivers content in a simple, well-organized manner without too much waxing and waning about the authors "journey." You can read and find what you want in a to-the-point way.

Aesthetically it's a beautiful book, well made with a gorgeous, intriguing cover and a high-quality paper feel. This makes it gift-able and a nice book to leave out on display.

Depending on your level of engagement the book is either right on point, or may veer a little into far-out territory. It's very informative regardless. It has scientific information like moon phases, terminology, when to see certain moons, and several photos depicting the moon phases. After that initial intro it delves into more magical moon relations ranging from stones to spells.

This book is beautiful

This book is beautiful. Honestly you could just use it and the pages as decorations and be happy. But if you want to learn about crystals, moon cycles, the different ways this impacts your life and maybe some tarot thrown in this is for you.
Beautiful illustrations and not too much writing make it the perfect go to book. I have no knowledge of anything in this area but I feel this could be a good starting point.
