Features & Highlights

  • Transported to a fantasy world for a roguish new take on the
  • isekai
  • genre. (And don’t miss the manga adaptation, also from Seven Seas!)
  • Oda Akira is the kind of guy who people forget is even there. His unassuming nature pays off, though, when his entire class is swept away to a fantasy world, and he slips easily into his new role as a silent assassin. Between his suspiciously high starting stats and too many details that don’t fit, Akira is sure something is wrong. But digging into royal secrets is a dangerous game, and when Akira uncovers an evil scheme, he also makes a powerful enemy—the very king who brought him to this world! With the help of the elven spirit medium Amelia, can he find the power to set things right, and get his revenge?

Great Take On Isekai! Highly Recommend!

I really enjoyed this version of an isekai story that the author has written. It has multiple POV’s throughout chapters, a solid side cast, and cool skill charts which I personally always love. I’m looking forward to more of this series and recommend giving it a try!

Give it a four

Giving it a four because it didn't wow me and was kinda predictable after reading half. In a sense you know what your buying.

So bad that I continue to think about it years later.

I have no idea how this book could possibly have over a four star rating without shenanigans.

I want to be clear, I enjoy light novels. I enjoy trashy litrpg. This fall squarely in my genre preferences, yet I find it unreadable.

The protagonist makes such spectacular bad and strange choices, that it completely breaks immersion.

Another equally preposterous thing I recall is the MC ended up in a labyrinth because random mentor character said (not in actual dialogue, in the protagonist memory when needed to jusitfy his behavior) "if you are in trouble, hide in a labyrinth." That was the level of explanation give to how the protagonist smash cut to a labyrinth.

The whole thing reads as though someone skimmed arifuetra for 5 minutes and then tried to write it back from memory.

I read about half of the book a long time ago, and I just can't let it go. It's so bad, I think about it years later. I probably wouldn't have bothered with leaving this review if it hadn't popped up in front of with a suspiciously high rating.

Good read

This was a great start to a series. The story keeps you turning the pages. I didn’t put down the book till I read the last page.
