My Torin

K Webster has an uncanny skill to weave a story with phenomenal character development. I’m up in the air on this book even though. I loved that she clearly researched the disorder at length. I loved the story. But this one just didn’t grab me and keep me held like most of her books do. That being said, I did enjoy the story. It just wasn’t my absolute favorite.

My Torin by Author K. Webster is an adult contemporary, psychological romance with some mild dark elements.

“I don’t know how to love.”
“Love isn’t something you can control. It controls you. Fills you up and infects every part of you until all you can do is just live and breathe it every second of every day.”
“Sounds like a disease.”
“Love is a cure.”

Torin has lived his entire life trapped. He’s not like other people. His mind works differently. Tyler loves fiercely. His most enduring love has been for family. He and Torin have braved all of life’s storms together and, in spite of their differences, have made each other better and stronger for it. Casey was doomed from birth. Cursed by her mother’s habits and left as someone else’s problem. She’s never known love and never really lived.

“I’ll give you all the pennies, Casey. I’ll give you them all.”

My Torin was one of the most beautiful love stories. It was a soul-charging and soul-changing. In true K. Webster style, we get the unique and unusual, unraveling our hearts for each character as their story comes to life before our eyes. My heart soared and plummeted throughout many parts of this novel, each character contributing the necessary ingredients to make it one that I dare not turn away from. Courage, bravery, perseverance, adulation, and reverence; these qualities were in abundance.

“God is watching over us and testing us. He’s strengthening our hearts. This isn’t a game. It’s a plan.”

One of the most profound nuggets was taught by Torin, lived by Torin, felt and tasted by him. Sometimes there are no words for the things that overwhelm us in life. Sometimes they are just felt, with no verbalizations being adequate enough to relay the magnitude of their meaning. Just because someone is different, thinks different, feels different, relays love different, doesn’t mean they aren’t worthy of affection and attention.

My Torin became my first Favorites of 2018 and one that I’m sure many readers will also relate with the same sentiment.

“When you never want to forget, you lock it away. You keep it until the end.”

Tears are streaming down my face right now. This book, god no words can describe how good this book was. My heart broke, it shattered and created a rift. I can’t understand how K Webster did this but she did. Her words crawled under my skin and burrowed into my heart. Casey is a girl who has had a bad life. Born an addict, abandoned by her drugged out mother and then bounced around from foster him to foster home Casey’s life has not been easy. When Tyler shows up and offered her everything she has ever wanted she accepts but knows there is a catch. Will it all be worth it in the end? Or will Casey be left alone and abandoned like so many times before? This book opened my eyes to things I’ve never even thought about. My heart aches and my eyes are wet, but the love I have for this book is really overwhelming. So good.

"Using her life a torch, I want to carry her throughout the house and light up every single dark part of my world. I want to fill it to the brim with her."

This book is about Casey, who was born to a crack cocaine addicted woman who abandoned her at a church. Her life started out really bad and continued until she's 17. One day she comes 'home' and there is a man who wants her to come with him, and even though she doesn't know what his intentions are she feels safe. I myself didn't get any creepy vibes from him even though he acted that way a couple of times. Like Casey, I had to figure out what was going on myself.

"Two of the most abnormal people on Earth. Yet, right now, we fit in. We belong. Together, we make up something beautiful."

I am going to be super vague because I don't want to spoil anything. But the characters in this book all are very special and my heart went out to all of them. They take Casey into their home and give her something she never had: a loving/caring home and family. It isn't always easy to be part of this family and there are very difficult times, but they have each other. There were a couple of heartbreaking moments that had me in tears. A couple of things I saw coming early on in the story but the author had a couple of other surprises up her sleeve like always!

My Torin was an unusual love story, with broken characters. Both main characters are seen as weird or not normal, but in my opinion the things that make them different make them unique and beautiful. I loved seeing them growing as individuals and finding love. This was another original story by K. Webster, I can always count on her to come up with something new and refreshing. I highly recommend this book to my fellow book lovers.

I love the books by this author, because she tells us stories with unusual themes. and this book in particular I loved it, with the perspective of the 2 protagonists .. simply beautiful story.

This book was just wow!! I went through so many emotions during this book that I'm still recovering. I loved these characters so much. They were so well written that I felt like I knew them and was right there with them. They will hold special places in my heart always.
My Torin is a MUST read!

This story hit me right in the feels! It is a beautiful story I never expected and it will stay with me forever! Skyrocketing straight up to the top of my all time favorite books

Wow! If ever a book is going to stay with me, it is without a doubt My Torin! The emotions...my God the emotions. We all know how incredibly talented K Webster is BUT this book My Torin soars her far above and beyond any author, in my opinion. It's not just the story or the characters that pull you in, it's the feel. You. Feel. Everything! K Webster's HEART and SOUL are beautifully etched on each page, her HEART and SOUL are magnificently exposed and placed within each character.
5 Stars are not enough for My Torin, this book deserves the night sky full of stars, in fact, if I could arrange the stars in the sky they would spell out MY TORIN for the entire world to see.

This book was so amazing! I’ve needed a good ugly cry book for a long time! Oh, my tender heart!

I felt so much for these characters. I think everyone just wants to be understood and accepted, no matter how different we are. Prejudgements and misconceptions are hurtful and usually wrong. We all need to feel loved and to be able to connect with others. This book is a wonderful example of that, and the way in which the author constructs the telling of this story, masterfully allowing everything to unfold in a way only she can manipulate, is truly touching and makes my heart swell.
