Description
"One of the best new Wrestling books" - BookAuthority New Jack doesn't hide anything in this book. From drug abuse to violent crime, it's all in here. He doesn't hold back on any subject and admits to things that other people would never admit to.There are a ton of good quotes from wrestlers, and people involved in wrestling, that any wrestling fan will appreciate. This is pretty much the only wrestling book by a wrestler that I can actually recommend to anyone, whether they're a fan or not. (5/5 stars)-- J.R. Preston, GoodreadsI'm actually amazed about this book... You get to discover the person behind this unique character and only a unique person could come up with such a great, unique, character / gimmick (which could never ever be duplicated), even more than you would by owning and watching every single shoot interview with New Jack / Jerome Young... You get them ALL wrapped into one and just like he's so entertaining listening to, this book is so well written... (5/5 stars)--xa0Jordan Leriche, GoodreadsNew Jack's book is filled with controversial comments, and fans of the wrestler will know what they are getting into with the book. If you are not familiar with his work, you may want to take heed; there is strong language throughout the text, and some opinions are sensitive in nature. It is hard for the reader to have emotion or sympathy for the wrestler, especially when he states he purposely goes out and hurts wrestlers at times (veterans and younger wrestlers), due to them suggesting spots they want to do in the match, and then turns around later in the book and makes comments about how , being a veteran, he doesn't always get the respect among younger wrestlers. The book is filled with these contradictions (New Jack admits he is not a team player when it comes to detailing matches out with promoters), but the book gives a unique insight of the man in a well written text. Jason Norman's writing keeps the book moving along.--- Lance Lumley,xa0lancewrites.wordpress.com/ The late Jerome "New Jack" Young started his career in wrestling on a whim. He then plunged into sports entertainment for over a quarter century, winning multiple titles in a career that took him all over the country, his greatest success coming in both singles and tag team action in Extreme Championship Wrestling for much of the 1990s. He lived in Greensboro, North Carolina.A former award-winning journalist and lifelong wrestling fan, Jason Norman teaches college English in southeastern Virginia.
