Major disappointment and my last Patterson co-authered purchase

[[ASIN:0316036218 Now You See Her]]
Being a voracious reader and an avid Patterson fan I was eager to start in on this latest release. Within a few pages I already knew it was not primarily Patterson's own writing. I flipped back to the lead in pages and there it was, the co-authored page, one of those two author novels. I thought Amazon had mislead me on their webpage, but looking it up again, the clearly identified both authors. I do not recommend this book and will not be buying anymore Patterson releases, once fooled is enough. This reads like a college class effort, simplistic plot, unbelievable heroine, contrived plot twists, completely unrealistic story leading to a ridiculous ending. This was not the stuff of prior Patterson novels, this was a silly read and a major disappointment to me.

Now You See Her

John Patterson is the very best, in my opinion!
This book, as usual, is outstanding and I would
recommend it to those who love a great mystery.
Excellent vendor as well.

Female protagonist overcomes two sadistic killers

The author has an interesting style : 382 pages and 117 chapters. This makes the reading fast-paced.All action, very little description of the scenery etc. Good for readers who want to read for 5minutes and put the book down for a while.
The plot is convoluted and loaded with violence, some sadistic. The heroine manages to escape a serial killer who has her in shackles on a bed.She performs like wonder woman. So does her daughter. This is a nice trope for empowerment of women-probably excellent PR. At this stage, Patterson himself is the franchise with an army of coauthors helping to turn out this seemingly endless stream of similar thrillers.

better luck next time for me, the reader.

I have been a fan of Patterson from his very first book. However now that he is writing with others and following formula writing the content of these books fail to entice me. This one in particular has faded from my mind and I only finished reading it the other day. When I finished it, I asked myself WHAT HAPPENED? I haven't come up with an answer. I know it is difficult to publish a winner every year, but Mr. Patterson seems sarisfied to come up with "so so" books of many varieties several times a year. He really is a terrific writer if only he would stick to his best genre: "scare the wits out of the reader thrillers".
