I am so impressed by the alternative history created here, and the brilliance of working in so many events, both documented and alleged, into the narrative.""★★★★★xa0This unusual mix of mystery, science fiction and historical fiction has all been well crafted. Didn't get much done while I was immersed in this great story!""★★★★★xa0Randy McWilson is a terrific author who has burst on the scene with a winner. Based on the number of 5 star reviews I'm not the only one to enjoy this read! I just ordered book 2...""★★★★★xa0Paradigm Rift is an astounding debut novel...This book grabs your attention right from the start and carries it all through the book. I even cringed when I realized I only had 9 pages left.""★★★★★xa0I could not find a place where I could just put it down. I kept thinking, OK, just one more chapter, and I'll go to bed. Read this review then buy this book

If you’re interested enough to be reading the reviews, you should buy this book. The storyline is riveting, the background is well-researched, and the characters are unique and realistic. Each chapter will draw you deeper into the plot and you’ll find yourself halfway through at 2:00a.m., weighing the merits of whether to finish it or save the finale for when you’re awake enough to really savor the rest.

So why am I rating it only four stars?

You see, as a frequent Amazon rating reader, I don’t read the five star reviews. I want to know what’s wrong with the item I’m buying. What’s the dirt? What’s the catch? And if there aren’t any reviews below five stars, that makes me leery about buying the item. So I figure I rate it four stars and grab your attention long enough to make my point.

Besides, I’m a bit of a conspiracy theorist myself. Perhaps that’s part of the reason I like the book so much. Perhaps someone went back in time and changed what I wrote on this review. Who knows?

But seriously, for fans of Eureka, X-Files, Fringe, and similar sci-fi/alternate history/time travel/ conspiracy stories, you will love this new twist on what we thought we knew about our history. And our future.

Just a note for those who want the full experience: buy the paperback vs. the Kindle version. He writes different chapters/points of view in different fonts and that’s part of the charm of the book. In the Kindle version, it’s all one font. Blah.

Wow! Fresh, New & Addicting! You don't have to be a Sci-fi fan to fall in love with this series!

Imagine you are suddenly ripped from life as you know it and dropped into a time that has already happened and a place for which you have never heard. Denver Collins finds himself as one of several “Jumpers” in Normal, Illinois, who just want to get back to the time they are from.

Author Randy McWilson’s background in video production is prevalent in his writing as the scenes and characters in Paradigm Rift flow effortlessly together. McWilson has created an original and provocative plot line with expertly crafted cliffhangers that keep the reader engaged and hidden teaser nuggets that create a sense of urgency for Tradecraft, the next book in the series. His attention to detail and the obvious research that went into planning and developing this story is evident in the historical references - so much so, that the reader may start to wonder if the story is factual or fiction.

Although Paradigm Rift is classified as sci-fi, the brilliantly developed characters and their separate agendas balance out the genre, so that you can actually forget that it is a sci-fi book at times. As an 18-year veteran teacher of Language Arts, Sci-fi is admittedly not my favorite genre; however, Mr. McWilson’s elegantly-woven masterpiece is BY FAR in my top ten book list. I am so glad I took a chance on this book and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Amazing book!!!

Sci-Fi is not my normal reading genre, so I was a little skeptical when a friend recommended that I read this book. I was completely hooked after the first chapter & could not put it down! It reminded me a little of Dean Koontz or Stephen King...a great plot with just enough mystery to keep you turning the page. I also recommend that you buy the actual book, you just won't get the same feel with an eBook! I look forward to reading more from this author!

DEFINITE page turner!

I LOVED this book! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough! This is one of those books that captivates you and stays with you. I found myself in awe of how McWilson links historical events to these scientific phenomena.

A gifted writer with an extremely creative mind, McWilson spins a story of science fiction, conspiracy, and human emotion. The characters are so realistic that you can imagine them vividly and who should play them on the "big screen".

This is definitely a must read! BOOK TWO PLEASE!!!!

Things aren't normal in Normal.... you'll love finding out why!

I don't normally read science fiction/conspiracy theory/time travel books, but upon an enthused recommendation decided to give it a try.... and, this book has won me over, or at least Randy McWilson has. If you like a fast-paced story with twists and turns and "ah ha" moments, you'll love this read. As proof of how much I enjoyed it, I've ordered Book 2, Tradecraft, and am looking forward to the continuing saga.

WOW

What a fantasy storyline! ! I couldn't put this down until I read to the end. I purchased book 2 to continue the journey. Paradigm Rift is not only entertaining, it also makes you think about life decisions. Would you do anything to protect your identity in a dangerous society? im still thinking about that.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

McWilson has thoughtfully planned his characters and their interaction like a seasoned author

This is a Sci-Fi thriller. It grips you from the beginning and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the last page. Now I am anticipating the second book. McWilson has thoughtfully planned his characters and their interaction like a seasoned author. I loved his use of history and military knowledge to intertwine his characters from the past with the present. You can tell that McWilson knows his characters inside out and has a definite direction for each one. I loved the main character and found myself rooting for him.
