Great read! Hightlights the eclectic upbringing of one of MMA's best personalities/title contenders

Dan's story isn't the standard "birth of tough guy with cliched street fights leading to an inevitable career in professional fighting" but more of the opposite. Dan dabbled between various martial arts at home, travelled all the way to China and venerable Shaolin Temple to immerse himself direct into the culture and philosophy of the birth place of Kung Fu, and back again. Struggles, humor, injuries, and a title shot against the best all around MMA fighter in history at the pinnacle of the sports highest stage. Dan has been through it all. Even now he's (IMO) MMA's most talented analyst and who knows if his ethic will even bring him back into the cage one day. Spirit quests, philosophy, and yea... some fights as well! A must read for all MMA fans and though simply looking to find their inner reptile.

Read Dan's Book! You Won't Be Disappointed!

Dan provides us with the opportunity to learn how he has become the person he is today. Starting with his first encounter with martial arts, and taking us to where he is at right now in his life, Dan has put together one of my favorite books written by a martial artist. I did not want to put this book down, as I laughed out loud a number of times, and got a sense of the strong family values and morals Dan lives by. I was a huge fan of his when he was fighting, and love the way he breaks down fights as an analyst. After reading this book, I am a bigger fan of Dan Hardy the person. Dan is clearly a hard working, intelligent person, doing his best to live life in the moment, and treating the world with respect. This book is highly recommended.
