Save your money, use the state references

This book is useless. It doesn’t tell or teach you anything the free resources from the state don’t already have. The author references physics and chemistry EOC/STAAR tests, which have never been given except in field testing, and TAKS testing, which disappeared about 10 years ago. She gives test taking tips that anyone this far in their career should already know like don’t stop on the questions you’re stuck on and highlight pertinent information. The second tip is harder since all these tests are now computer-based. Don’t waste your money.

Buy it, use it

I was able to pass the 268 with a very good score. The book is well organized and allows for easy comprehension. I would use website to help study for the constructive responses though.

Good TExES prep

I think this is very good TExES prep book, easy to follow and abundance of useful information on how to prepare for the test. Real life stories and application section is really helpful, there is also A LOT of general information, strategies for test taking and stress management. Definitely great to add to collection but I would look into other sources as well and not base my success on this one guide only.

A must have!!!!

So I have read tons of study material for the principal's exam and this book by far is a must in your studying. It is easy to read and understand the way the test-makers built the test. The author has many helpful tips and techniques on what to use when taking your exam.

Not what you are hoping for

Read the book and failed. PAIL 268 is influenced by Leverage Leadership 2.0. it's cheaper, I read it and passed. There is nothing in this book that will help you with the recall

Useless! Don’t buy!

Don’t waste your money! The free online materials were all you need. This book offers the kind of testing strategies one has already learned through the SAT or AP exams. The book is lightweight and can be read in only an hour. Really just a money grab based on the author’s biography. So disappointing!

Good but there are better

I teach at the college level and keep a huge supply of study guides available whenever possible; there are always students in need of a review and frankly, it's a fast way to stay up to date myself. This is solid but not necessarily timely. It provides a solid foundation review but use in combination.
