Percy Jackson and the Olympians Hardcover Boxed Set: Books 1 - 5 (Percy Jackson & the Olympians)

I bought this for my 10 yr olds birthday. He loved it. And I loved the price. What a bargain, compared to what you pay at the book store for just 2 hard cover books, I got all five with a great keepsake box. My son loved the secret compartment in the bottom of the box. Recieved in the time it said it would!!

We purchased the book set for our son for Christmas. The first set was sent back because the "treasure chest" carton was torn in several places, even though the shipping container appeared undamaged. The replacement "treasure chest" was in even worse shape, even though the second shipping container appeared undamaged. Rather than fuss with shipping it back again, we purchased a wooden "treasure chest" from a world market to place the book set in. We're satisfied now and the books look even nicer stored in the wooden chest.

I ordered the set for my son despite the multiple reviews about the box arriving damaged. Just wanted to let potential buyers know that Amazon appears to have corrected this issue. My boxed set was placed covered in bubble wrap, placed in a small box, labeled with a sticker stating "ready for shipment," and then placed in a larger box.

As far as the book goes, my 8 year old son (who is not a voracious reader) loves the series and is looking forward to the movie. Big time.

Great Books but the collectors case they came in was busted in shipping. I saw the same on other reviews as well. If the shipper and Amazon could spend a little more time packing this one then my reveiw would have been for 5 stars but they failed to deliver the product in decent condition so low review.

Nice Packaging. Bought this primarily for my daughter to read to her 7 year old. Fun story for kids. Very boring and choppy for adults. Chapters make good stand alone reading for kids.

I loved the series when I got it from the library. I was looking forward to the set and was going to pick it up from my local Borders, but they never got it in. I ordered it off of Amazon and not only was it cheaper, but it came fast! I'm now reading it to the kids at the after school program I work at and they love it!

Percy Jackson is a great series for anyone who likes fantasy / myth based fiction, regardless of age. My kids loved it and I loved it (maybe as much or more than them!). The stories are imaginative, colorful, entertaining, and best of all: clean. Mr. Riordan is a classy writer who understand how to tell a great story without the need to use toilet talk and inappropriate humor.

The boxed set is awesome! The box, unlike some other sets, is fairly sturdy! It'll hold up forever if treated properly. Unfortunately, the box must have been abused in transit and was dented in on one corner. Not a big deal, as the function of holding the books was unhindered. The books come with dust jackets and the artwork on the books and the box is top-notch. Overall, a great present or just a great addition to your library.

I have seen this product elsewhere, so I know it rocks even though I have not received it yet. It has been 32 days since I ordered and counting.

The books are a good read and my son enjoys them. HOWEVER it arrived damaged ...... the shipping box was in good shapte but the box holding the books looked like it had been thru a war....I would say that is an Amazon issue and not a shipping issue. When I called they said if the shipping box wasn't damaged it was just toooo bad.......so I wont purchase from Amazon.

Each book in the set was a great read. Very hard to put down. If you're interested at all in Greek mythology you will like how Riordan ties everything in together. Easy 5 stars.
