Kimberly Kincaid writes contemporary romance that splits the difference between sexy and sweet. When she's not sitting crosslegged in an ancient desk chair known as "The Pleather Bomber," she can be found practicing obscene amounts of yoga, whipping up anything from enchiladas to éclairs in her kitchen, or curled up with her nose in a book. Kimberly is a 2011 RWA Golden Heart® finalist who lives (and writes!) by the mantra that food is love. She resides in northern Virginia with her wildly patient husband and their three daughters.

Someone’s Bound To Get Burned…
Zoe Westin may be a fire captain’s daughter, but feeding the people in her hometown of Fairview is her number one priority. Running a soup kitchen is also the perfect way to prove to her dad that helping people doesn’t always mean risking life and limb. But when she's saddled with a gorgeous firefighter doing community service after yet another daredevil stunt, the kitchen has never been so hot. Alex Donovan thrives on adrenaline, and stirring a pot of soup doesn’t exactly qualify. He’s not an expert at following the rules either, not even when they come from the stubborn, sexy daughter of the man who's not only his boss, but his mentor. Determined to show Zoe that not every risk ends in catastrophe, Alex challenges her both in the kitchen and out. One reckless step leads to another, but will falling for each other be a risk worth taking, or will it just get them burned?
Praise for Kimberly Kincaid and her novels

Who Knew I'd Love a Firefighter Romance?
This was a fabulous book! I don't usually read romances centered on firemen (that may now change) but I could tell the author really did her research and now knows her stuff about the world, equipment, lingo, mindset and understated rules of the firefighting universe.
Both main characters were interesting and engaging with their obvious attraction, but separate obstacles to overcome.
The author also has a fantastic way of turning a phrase or describing a look or mannerism that reads completely fresh and so very visual. Totally enjoyable read. A big five stars.

and I got to say all the praise I've heard for her books is well deserved because Reckless was a really good romance. I absolute
Kimberly Kincaid is another one of those authors who I keep hearing other people rave about, so I decided to see what all the fuss was about when I was given a chance to read Reckless, the first book in her new Rescue Squad series, and I got to say all the praise I've heard for her books is well deserved because Reckless was a really good romance.
I absolutely loved Zoe and Alex's story. They are complete opposites with Alex being a reckless firefighter who is always getting in and out of trouble and Zoe being the good, playing it safe chef who wants to avoid heartache, but somehow they were couple that I could really root for. Despite all their differences they were so perfect for each other and really made each other better throughout the book.
What I especially loved about this book was the way it focused on the problems that both characters had to deal with in their personal lives without getting to heavy or having some crazy drastic plot surrounding the romance. I also really liked how the secondary characters were portrayed in the book. Although they weren't the main characters, they still really grabbed my attention getting me excited for future books in this series.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun, romantic read and a great start to a series. I can't wait to read more from this author!

Geat story!
Oh wow! What a great story! I loved every moment of it. This is the first full length novel I've read by Kimberly Kincaid and it won't be my last. Alex is a hot fire fighter and Zoe is a great chef running a soup kitchen. There's so much goodness in this book that it just makes me feel so good after reading it. I loved how Alex and Zoe were so honest with each other from the start. There wasn't any miscommunication or any bs. They spoke their minds even when it might not be what the other wanted to hear so watching their relationship develop was so refreshing to read. And let's not forget all the hot sex scenes too. A very enjoyable read.

HOT new series!
Reckless is book #1 in Kimberly Kincaid's new Rescue Squad series. If this book is any indication of how this series will be then it will be a must on everyone's TBR list!
Alex Donovan is one of the best firefighters at Engine 8, the only problem is he has a tendency to act first and think later. For what he has in bravery he has an equal measure of recklessness. When Alex loses his cool during a warehouse fire and has a run in with another Engine's chief he finds himself in the hot seat. With a history of reckless behavior and a record to show it, his captain puts him on leave with the condition that he must complete 4 weeks community service or lose his job.
Alex wasn't thrilled to say the least. It wasn't that he was against community service, he just can't fathom the idea of being away from the job for 4 weeks. Firefighting is all he knows, he lives and breathes his job, that is until Zoe Westin came back into his life.
Zoe Westin has left a career as a promising job as a chef to return home and run the local soup kitchen. While others don't understand her leaving a promising career to run a soup kitchen, Zoe is thrilled. With only a miniscule budget to work with, Zoe must rely on community service to run the center. But when her latest worker ends up being none other than Alex Donovan Zoe knows she is in trouble.
Alex couldn't believe it when he discovered Zoe Westin, his captain's only daughter, would be his boss for the next 4 weeks. Zoe has the same work ethic and determination as her father which soon has Alex respecting her even more than he already did. Where Alex is spontaneous and reckless, Zoe is follow the rules with no expectations, so when these two finally come together something is bound to combust.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two. I couldn't help but fall in love with these two. Zoe is so sweet and lovable and Alex, while reckless, has a huge heart and is always willing to lend a helping hand.
I received an eARC of this book from the publisher for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

Great start to a new series
Alex Donovan is an adrenaline junky. His life revolves around his job. Being a fire fighter was all he ever wanted to do, so when he was hired 8 years ago to work for Engine 8 he was thrilled. Over the last eight years his intense personality has gotten him into some trouble with his Captain. When he disobeys the direct order of the Captain in charge at a warehouse fire he is forced to do 4 weeks of community service at a soup kitchen. He soon finds out the soup kitchen is being run by his Captain’s daughter Zoe. Zoe is sure Alex will not take the community service seriously, however when trouble strikes he is determined to show her he is there to help. During the time spent together Alex and Zoe’s relationship changes. Alex pushes Zoe to apply for financial help for the soup kitchen so she can live her dream of feeding as many people as possible. At the beginning they fight the feelings that they are having for each other, because of Zoe’s father. They soon decide that their relationship is worth the risk of upsetting her father. Now Alex Donovan’s revolves around his job and Zoe Westin.
I Enjoyed this book by Kimberly Kincaid.. It was the first I have read and would love to read more of her work.

Being Reckless Isn't Always Bad
*I received an ARC of this book free from Kensington Books via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*
Zoe thought she knew what she wanted and she went after it with a gusto, but being a chef in a large kitchen didn't exactly make her feel all warm and fuzzy inside so she made a change. She wanted to cook for people to actually needed it, for people who actually appreciated her efforts. Of course in following her dreams she felt like she'd let her father down and that was a bridge she truly wanted repaired.
Alex loves his job as a fireman, but when it comes to choosing his own judgement over following the rules he proves he's a little too reckless for the team, which lands him with community service. Community service under the direction of his chief's beautiful and demanding daughter.
One house rule...chief's daughter is off-limits. It wasn't a written rule, but with how close everyone was it was a well-known and respected rule. One even Alex wasn't reckless enough to break. His restraint wavers a few times, but he always gains control before crossing that line. Until one day when his restraint breaks.
Her father and mother split up because of his dedication to being a fireman. It was something she never fully understood. At least not until Alex. But one thing remained the same, she couldn't imagine ever even thinking about being with a fireman. She saw the stress it had put on her mother and she never wanted to live like that. Too bad her heart and head aren't on the same page, because fireman or not Alex was slowly becoming everything to her.
Reckless is about family, overcoming fears, and risking a little recklessness to truly live. It was a fun and entertaining read that kept me interested for the most part. There are a few slower moments that seemed to drag, but not enough to make me want to put it down.
My Favorite Moment: I enjoyed the moment when Zoe and Alex decide they need to tell her father. His unsaid words were what made it my favorite part.
"It's going to take a delicate conversation, an we'll have to figure out the best way to have it. I'm not saying it won't be..." Awkward. Brutal. A carte-blanche invitation for the man to kick my ass. "Difficult at first," he managed past his tightening vocal cords. "But like you said, we're adults. This isn't just some one-night stand."

Being reckless can be hot!!!
Reckless by Kimberly Kincaid kept me entertained from the very beginning.
Alex is one heck of a firefighter but after ignoring orders, he’s off the job for a while. Don’t worry though, he’ll have his hands full with many hours of community service. Good thing he gets assigned to Hope House for his hours, because Zoe is probably the only person who can keep him in line.
“If Alex Donovan sets so much as one toe out of line, I’ll send him packing. You can bet the bank on it.”
Alex is reckless and Zoe doesn’t take enough risks. These two balance each other out. To say there is heat between these characters is an understatement. Alex and Zoe burn up the pages and leave you feeling satisfied. Reckless by Kimberly Kincaid deserves five heated stars.
