About the Author Georgia Beers is a Lambda Literary Award, Foreword Book of the Year Award, and Goldie Award winning author of lesbian romance. She resides in upstate New York where she was born and raised. When not writing, she enjoys too much TV, never too much wine, and long walks with her dog. Features & Highlights

  • Accountant and financial advisor Lacey Chamberlain doesn’t consider herself a control freak. She’s merely a planner―orderly, neat, and content in her tidy little life. When a marketing firm moves into the empty office next door, the loud-music-playing, stinky-food-ordering, kickball-in-the-hall staff make Lacey crazy. Marketing expert Alicia Wright is spontaneous, flies by the seat of her pants, and lives in the moment―all the things Lacey is not. She’s also gorgeous, thoughtful, and seems determined to make Lacey like her. They say opposites attract, but for how long? And is that really a good idea?

Not a great fan of this particular Beers book

I'm not sure how I haven't yet actually read a Beers novel (I think I own 96 Hours and maybe one other, but I haven't had time to read them yet, this was the first one of hers that I read). She has so many books, I think that means I'm a bad lesbian fiction reader.

Unfortunately, I was not a great fan of this one.

The two main characters are Lacey and Alicia. Lacey is a financial advisor/accountant and Alicia owns a marketing/graphic design firm that moves in next door. Lacey doesn't mesh well with how they work, but slowly they fall in love I guess with mostly the regular sorts of twists and turns.

And what is it with one of the characters in all the recent stories I've read taking all the blame when really they have every right to be annoyed/angry about something?

I can't say I liked a lot of the other characters either. Except Lacey's Mom and Dad and Brother. As well as Giselle. I would have loved to see an entire book about her (maybe she's a little bit bi?? Heh.)

It wasn't a horrible book, but, I found myself annoyed more often than not while reading which was a bummer.

I was given this ARC by Netgalley on behalf of Bold Strokes Books.

An enjoyable romance

4.5 Stars. 'Right Here Right Now’ is a slow-burning sweet romance between two very different women. Lacey is an accountant who lives her life to a plan, is predictable and does not like change. Enter Lacey, a marketing and design executive who is the complete opposite. Nevertheless they click. I enjoyed them getting to know each other and finding out about their different businesses and friends. The connection is sexy, emotional and very hot. I really wanted them to make it and Georgia Beers certainly knows how to pitch the ‘will they won’t they?’ question perfectly. Alicia surprised me more and was not the person I thought at the beginning. Lacey blossomed in her presence and this was my favourite element of the book. I would have liked a bit more of their story, what happened next. 4.5 Stars.

I was given this ARC by Bold Strokes Books and Netgalley in return for an honest review.
