Sheep in a Jeep (Read-Along Book & CD)

My daughter loooooooooooves this book! And I have to admit, I love it too. I've read it so many times at the request of my daughter I can pretty much recite the whole thing by memory. I totally recommend this book to anyone who has a kid! It is cute and funny and the rhyming and the pictures keeps the kids engaged! A must have!

This is a wonderful story. However, the audio is very slow, with long pauses between lines, and it didn't keep my son's attention at all.

"Sheep in a Jeep" read along book and CD was a hit with our youngest grandchild (2 when purchased now 3). She like the words and pictures. Her older sisters age 6 and 7 have listened to the CD a couple of times, but really weren't as interested as the now 3 year old. When asked why they both said in their own way that it was a "baby" book.

I purchased this for a four-year-old who is starting to learn how to read. Given the rave reviews for this book, I thought it would be a big hit. But it's really slow paced, and still a very quick read. I appreciate a good children's book, but this one bored me as well. It just has a few words on each page, and long spells of just music, I suppose so the child can take in what's going on on the page, which isn't a whole lot.

The one good thing about this book was that it was his first read-along and he learned how to turn the pages when signaled, so he knew exactly what to do with his second read-along, [[ASIN:1402203292 Poetry Speaks to Children (Book & CD) (Read & Hear)]], which he loves.

My son and I check out about a dozen book from our local library every other week. For Christmas this year Santa brought him a handful of his favorites. This book is one of his absolute favorites out of the hundreds we've checked out. We checked out both the CD and non-CD versions of this book and I must say the CD makes it. My son loves the sheep and jeep sound effects. He actually is a little distraught when the jeep crashes at the end, even though we've read it over and over! Still, he loves this book- a great one for kids and adults. Short and sweet for short attention spans and quicker bedtime routines.

I only wish there were still more books on CD. My grandson loves the independence of putting the CD in by himself and reading along.
