It was okay!

I might be the minority here...so, forgive me if this didn't get a five star rating from me.
I felt misled by the blurb. The blurb says something like "Her husband didn't want her anymore but someone will do anything just to be with her." I might have a little issue with the story line:
I am fully aware that this book involved "cheating" and I was intrigued as to how one's wife feeling rejected turned into someone for attention and comfort. About three quarters of the book made me believed that Nate was cheating on her. But how did Nate waited for 2+ months to open up his so called "issues" with his wife? I understand that Sadie tried to find out what was going on, but he shuts her out. I find Nate's issues a bit weak for him to behave that way. About 85 percent of the story, when Sadie was able to tell Nate that she's finally over with their marriage and that she's having an affair with their neighbor, Finn. It was all of the sudden that Nate hurried to spill out his "issues" and forgave Sadie's infidelity in an instant without throwing a fight. Wow! That was completely fast decision there for Nate. He must be a very good, forgiving and a loving man dispite the fact that his wife cheated. I also felt Sadie was a bit selfish. Seven years of smooth sailing marriage and just when the going gets tough...she gives up right away and turn to someone else's husband. She knew he was married and she still got involved with him. That was a little too much there. She misled Finn for a possibility of a future with her and I felt bad for Finn. It makes me wanna think... is there really a kind of woman like Sadie? An instant forgiving husband like Nate? It seems surreal... for reals. Although it has the HEA ending, I didn't feel ecstatic about it. Makes me want to think about the two other books after this. This is my honest opinion about this book.

WOW! Great read

To everybody, including Sadie, she and Nathan have the "perfect marriage", until they don't. Sadie finds herself wondering what has happened to their relationship as she struggles to get her husband to break the silence that is now engulfing their supposedly perfect lives. During the time when her loneliness and feelings of inadequacy hit an all time high, a new neighbor moves right across the hall and the attraction is immediate.
This book is one I came to read with a lot of reservations knowing that dealt with adultery, but it didn't disappoint. The story is well told, gripping and all these characters have powerful motives to act the way they do. This is a book that clearly portraits what the lack of communication and fear can do to what could have been a great relationship. The angst is real and IMO, they all had grounds to justify their mistakes, because that's real life. We all make bad decisions we have to live with during, but there's love, understanding and forgiveness if we are prepared to work through them. Now, I'd love to see a story to bring Finn to find his own HEA. :)

Spellbinding

Riveting read, though there is a lot of graphic sex within the pages of the story.

The emotions the characters experienced were amazing, to the point I could empathize with each of the three main characters. The author really drew me into the characters' emotions, thus their lives, and the end of the story was one I didn't expect to read.

Jessica Hawkins is a great, engaging storyteller.

So much unnecessary drama if she's just asked Nathan what happened! Jesus Christ!

I read this book and it broke my heart. Miscommunication or lack of communication tears apart 5 lives! Wow, just, as a married woman with one failed marriage under my belt, this just killed me.
