Ok story.

It’s a great story. Sort of bogged down by unnecessary details. Has a sort of sarcastic wit to it it’s hard to follow. But the story does have some twists and turns. Not my favorite Gaiman.

Love this book

I may be biased, as I am a bit of a Neil Gaiman fan, but this book has everything I expect in a Gaiman novel—and it does everything very well. Magical realism at its best. The book was also in perfect condition when it arrived.

some problems, but great fun

A fun little story for teens and adult who love fairytales. I enjoyed this immensely, even though it took nearly 95% of the book before I liked Tristran. His chaining Yvaine and forcing her to come with him is really off-putting. But at least he bettered himself by the end.

Exactly as it says - an adult fairy tale

Loved it! I'll start by saying, I've never seen the movie (didn't even know there was a film based off this until a coworker mentioned it after seeing me reading this at lunch one day). The plot is simple, the writing is detailed but also at times a bit simple. It's easy to guess what's going to happen next. But that's what I wanted. Something easy to read at night to help me get to bed, like the books I used to read as a kid. Really enjoyed it. I'm going to read Neverwinter next and I'm hoping it's similar to this.

Fairy fieldtrip!

Neil Gaiman is a spellbinding storyteller and this is no exception. Fun, fairy whimsy, a little dark, a little humorous; a quick read. It feels like he’s actually taken a trip over the wall and come back to tell us about it

More adult than the movie, but still magical

Having seen the movie and being a major Gaiman fan I finally got around to this novel. It’s a bit more adult than expected (sex and violence are present) but otherwise similar to the movie, and super fun.

Awesome!

I'm not going to write out a review of the books contents/plot (which is just wonderful. One of my Favorite books) .
Just on the new cover.
It's stunning. I'm so glad that Neil was able to get Robert McGinnis to do new artwork for his books.
His style is just spectacular.
I own all of Neil's books and have read them many times over. But I fell in love with the new art so I just had to order all of the new books for the covers.
They are going to be prominately displayed in my cozy little home library.

yet better.

A classic story created from the mind of Gaiman and cover drawn by Robert E. Gibbins. The story is reminiscent of a princes bride, yet better.
