Sugarplum Way

Even though I’ve been reading Christmas books since like September, I feel like today officially begins the Christmas season and this is THE perfect book to put you into the spirit of the holidays. It’s cute, funny and the ideal book to curl up with while listening to Christmas music and sipping some hot chocolate.

Julia was an adorable, likable heroine, exactly what you expect from Mason. She’s quirky enough to make her interesting and she’s one of the sweetest characters I’ve come across in awhile. Aidan is the quintessential grumpy, brooding, handsome hero but there was a surprising amount of depth to the storyline that caught me off guard. I took this for a cookie cutter romance, and yes elements were exactly that, but there was some history that made things interesting and allowed for unexpected moments as well.

I should mention this is the fourth in a series set in Harmony Harbor but even though there were quite a few characters to keep track of, Mason did a great job of providing enough pertinent background information so I wasn’t confused. There was a hint of magical realism and the supernatural here that I wasn’t anticipating and it added something super fun to an already feel good, happy go lucky read! I’ve been a fan of the author for awhile and will definitely continue to be one.

Sugarplum Way by Debbie Mason is a heartwarming story. The characters are lovable, the plot is juicy, and Harmony Harbor provides the perfect small town cozy setting during Christmas time. This book focuses on Aiden Gallagher, single Dad and town cop, and Julia Landon, writer and bookstore owner. Julia is fulfilling a duty to make sure each of the Gallagher’s get a happily ever after, which Aiden is suspicious of but that doesn’t stop his strong feelings for her whenever he is around her. But like most people in Harmony Harbor, Julia does hold a secret that threatens to ruin her and the life she’s built, if anyone gets their hands on the mysterious Secret Keeper book, owned and written by the Gallagher family Matriarch, Colleen. Julia knows she hasn’t done anything wrong but try to help make things better, but will the others, especially Aiden, see the silver lining? This is a great series! Happy Reading!

This is a great book! I really enjoyed this edition to the Harmony Harbor series. This one felt different from the first three and I found it to be almost refreshing just to step a little bit out of the usual setting (though the usual was there as well, fear not!).
This was a bit of a holiday story so you have the love story that you are looking and waiting for along with some fun holiday cheer in the background. In this tale, the focus is on Julia Landon, a romance writer with a knack for happily ever afters, and Aidan, the crush of her past year after a big ol' smooch under some mistletoe last year. The latest love in her romance novel just happens to resemble everything about Aidan to the point that he himself could practically just walk off the page. Now Aidan, he's not so keen on this love thing. He was married once and has a 4 year old daughter. His ex is a bit clingy and still wants to get back together years later. There's a lot going on there. He's also still missing his mom and sister who died years ago in a car crash. Needless to say, hes a brooding guy if ever there was one. As usual, there is a whole lot of other stuff going on in the background while these two are doing their thing. You have your ghosty, the cat, the book of secrets, and so much more to look forward to.
I don't want to tell you the whole book but I really loved this one. It's possible it's my favorite thus far. If you have been following this series so far you don't want to skip this one. Even if it's not one of your favorites, you should still enjoy seeing the town and all the gang again! I really liked this book!

Great book

If you find an author that you like, you tend to want to read their books. This is cute. Hope you like it.

I'm fairly new to Debbie Mason's books but have found them all very enjoyable so far. This one has secrets, mystery, romance (both younger and older couples), humor, second chances, and lots of good fun.

Good book
