Filler Art

Beautiful deck. I saw many photos of this and instantly wanted it, but when I received it it fell flat of my expectations. Now, don't get me wrong, it was very good quality, a nice size, and has beautiful artwork, however the cards seem to have meaningless artwork. Certain Major Arcana keep to the meaning, but the rest just seem like filler.

Beautiful deck, would buy again as a gift, would definitely recommend for collectors and those that are fans of non-traditional.

Eh

Wish I would have looked at these reviews before purchasing this deck. Everything that low raters are saying is true. If you're new to tarot, this deck isn't for you. If you're looking for a deck that is based of the original Rider Waite, this deck isn't for you. The colors aren't there, the symbolism isn't there. I know the standard meanings of tarot cards, and these cards don't really fit their traditional meanings. At first I was excited because I always like learning new ways to look at the cards, but the book that comes with this deck is just so useless. Little one liners, and one word descriptions. It really doesn't help at all. I tried googling the card meanings to see if there was anything more to read up on online but there isn't.

Examples:

The 3 of Cups. In traditional tarot: celebrations, parties, friendships, get togethers. In a negative sense: third party situations.

In this deck: The 3 of Chalices: Passion. The Magic of the Egg. It indicates improvement, success in love, and relief from heartbreak.

Visually-- it's a giant picture of a man grabbing a woman's breast, kissing her neck, and fondling her crotch as she stands completely naked except for a pair of thigh high stockings. Oh, and on the table is a little bitty egg, wrapped in a bow, along with a bowl, I guess of water. The bowl isn't talked about at all in the description book, so why would I pay attention to the egg, and why would they even include the bowl, period? All I'm looking at is a man pleasuring a woman. I'm really not sure what I'm supposed get from this card besides "Let me pleasure you." It most certainly doesn't speak to a traditional 3 of cups card.

The 4 of Wands in traditional tarot: stability, foundations, happy home, the "twin flame" card.

In this deck: The 4 of Wands: Playing. The Magic of the Seven Beans. Sexual intent is born of play and enjoyment, just as harmony is born of happiness.

What? Why are there seven beans, on a 4 card? What do the beans even represent?

Visually: A girl in reverse cowgirl position, riding her massive man-wand on a swing. (0_o)

The most disturbing card for me: The King of Swords. Visually: An older, fully clothed man sits in a chair as his foot fondles a younger woman's breast. Through the window, a crone, or maybe the King of Swords' wife peers in as she watches (her man?) do some foot fetish stuff. Who knows. Maybe it's his mother. I honestly couldn't even tell you, but the fact she's just watching through the window gave me the creeps.

Advice for this deck: Throw out what you know about the original tarot and use these intuitively and see what they might mean for you.

reminiscent of 70s p*rn standards

Sexually explicit, like soft porn maybe...? Also, not very inclusive. Only one Black & White couple, and a few suggestions of possible future Menage Trois. The deck definitely is reminiscent of 70s porn standards. The card stock is okay, much like regular playing cards. Still, I do actually like these cards and find more meaning within them the longer I work with them. Upon 1st glance, they do seem shallow & gratuitous... however, there is substance, if you take the time to listen.

Minor quibble.

I do wish the cards were larger to better appreciate the art work, which is top notch. Otherwise a must for anyone who likes tarot decks for their art. Extremely sexy.

Trickier Deck

So... I... Hmm... How do I adequately review this deck? EVERYONE that I read for LOVES this deck - the artwork is beautiful and... exciting. But I feel like there is a lot missing from the guidebook - almost like I only have some of the puzzle pieces... Would be nice to know how to find the rituals book that correlates to this deck. Also... DEFINITELY need some more diversity and progressive inclusion.

Aesthetically pleasing deck.

Despite the lack of people of color this deck is amazingly beautiful and is one of my favorite decks. It isn’t for the faint of heart either. Still it is worth the buy just based on artwork alone

Great texture, amazing descriptions

Such a great deck!! The descriptions of the cards have different meaning than the original RW, provided, of course, in a different light... creates new, in depth messages... beyond sexual.
5 +star

Also, big on the actual texture! They’re so easy to shuffle, doesn’t feel like paper deck but not as slippery as a plastic deck either.
Great job done here.

Amazing overall. Funny smell though.

I purchased this to treat myself for my upcoming birthday. And I am not disappointed!!! This deck is so smooth and easy to shuffle! It is incredible to read with as it depicts and describes not only the physical, but also the emotional energies of the situation. My only problem is the smell of the cards out of the box. Does not affect my rating, but is simply a warning for those sensitive to strong odors.

Adorable deck!

That's a very very nice deck. True, paper is a but on a thin side, but other than that I love it! The artwork is wonderful.
