The Incredible Art of Rebels...but not All of it.

I am a huge fan of the CGI animated series Star Wars: REBELS. I know Clone Wars to be the superior product, but Rebels is just my kind of Star Wars. I love it. I have been waiting for an art book for forever and Dark Horse has delivered..sort of. Mostly.

The book is gorgeous, with great images of everything from the characters to props, environments, vehicles and costumes. At the same time, it is missing some very conspicuous omissions. For example, no art or mention of Lando Calrissian's appearance in the series, though they do show the Puffer Pig in detail. The gangster Azmorigan is mentioned in the text several times but no art of him is included. The entire episode of 'Iron Squadron' including the ship used, the droid (depicted above from the official Star Wars website), and the characters are complete absent from the book.

Lastly, there is quite a lot of art but very little concept art except in the very beginning. The back cover says the book contains 'never before seen concept art'. Not so much.

If you, like myself, are a fan of Star Wars: Rebels, I definitely recommend the book. That said, if you are as much of a fan as I am you probably know more about the show than the writers, art directors, and publisher.

Good, but wanted something more.

There is some great stuff in here, and the artwork is as stunning as the visuals on the show. Usually the "Art of" books offer a little more narrative insight into development of the films or shows though, and I felt like this one only scratches the surface. Also, why is this one portrait oriented when all the other "Art of" since Disney took over are landscape? A solid addition for Rebels fans, but I kind of hope there will be a "making of" that gets into the nitty gritty a little more.

Not as good as art of clone wars

First let me start out and say.... I love this show and everything Dave Filoni and team did to bring this show together. This book does not do their work justice. Especially if you look at the art book for the Clone wars animated series. This book just glazes over everything. I wanted more character designs and storyboard art. The scenery and the 3d models are incredibly well executed, but I want to see the process. This book is a big disappointment for a fan that hoped for more.

Great poor. Poor handling by Amazon.

Beautiful book. Great illustrations.
100% worth the money.
Sadly, even though the packaging didn't look damaged at all, it arrived with all four corners of the cover bashed in.
Not a huge deal, but I like to keep books like this in good condition....

A gift for my brother.

My brother kept seeing this book at Barnes & Noble, but it was sealed and he couldn't look through it, so I bought it for him for his birthday. He absolutely loved it. Great book.
