cool for a boy in the 1940s.

For a short book, it made me feel that whatever was happening, that it will never end. of the ten chapters the first five takes place in a cramped early submarine, full of enemies, and no progress. the book was a very much a drag for the first half, every day was the same stuff. this created a contrast in the second half which was extremely different every chapter. The book seemed like a totally different novel. Though it has very classic archetypes, the focus is on the novels' environments and whatever interesting sciences it proposes to the reader. I read this for the purpose of expanding the knowledge of my classical science fictions, this had a stronger sense of adventure then the science it was explaining. Though with outdated theories, it was interesting to see what people once speculated. theories like the dinosaur moved and like a kangaroo, or the common battle among the ancient line of sapiens are for life and making life.

An adventure worth reading!

This is the very first book I have read of Burroughs and I am sorry I waited this long to read it. The Land that Time Forgot is a wonderful adventure. Chock full of courage and excitement, it kept me going on to find out more of the fate of the people in it. On a side bar, the love story was amazing. As the two lovers danced around each other, they were in love and as they say "love conquers all".

A wonderful tale of old adventure. Full of ship wrecked sailors, brave men and frail women who learn to be strong. A very pleasant and wonderful read.

No, not likely to happen in present day but so what! It was amazing!
