Great read

I actually really enjoyed this book and all the twists and turns, and even second guessed myself a couple of times about who the killer was. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I had actually guess who the killer was pretty much right away. This was a very enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more books by Erica Spindler.

Erica Spindler doesn't disappoint

I love Erica Spindler so it was easy to grab a copy of The Look-Alike. It was even easier to enjoy. Loved the short chapters! The plot was intense, the characters extremely unique, and the ending that I thought I figured out was still shocking!

Great Book!

Loved it! Another great book from Erica Spindler! She’s a great author if you haven’t read her before. Now, many years ago she wrote romances and I didn’t care for those but any of her books in the past several years you just can’t go wrong. !

The character was a little bit passive, the plot a bit predictable.

Solid suspense surrounding a young woman returning home as the mysteries of her youth deepen. Was she targeted as a young woman or was the college campus murder of a similar looking coed just a coincidence? Is she internalizing her mother's paranoid delusions or rightfully concerned for her safety.
The character was a little bit passive, allowing the men in her life (including a guy she just met!) to direct her thoughts and attention; the plot a bit predictable. But what I really loved was a lot of the symbolism in this book. Enjoy this quick read if twisted is your cup of tea.

Page turner for sure!!!

Just like all of Erica Spindler’s other books, I couldn’t put it down. I read the entire book in one day. It’s the kind that makes you say “just one more chapter” until you’ve read 10 more and haven’t gotten anything else done. I loved the story, the characters, and the suspense! Erica will always be an automatic buy for me. Thank you for another great read!!

Meh

I had never read one of Ms. Spindler’s books before and probably won’t after reading this one. I do understand the good Press for her writing, but I found it overly long, too wordy and too many things going on. The basic story is that a girl dressed like the main character was killed on campus many years ago. Now that the main character is back in town, she is getting anonymous calls claiming she was the one meant to die. Five thousand pages later, you find the answer. Not for me....

Great page turner!

The Look-Alike is about college student Sienna Scott, who stumbles across a dead body on campus that looks a lot like herself. The murder investigation goes unsolved and Sienna ends up leaving the country after having a mental breakdown. Returning ten years later, the investigation has been reopened. Is the murderer someone she knows, and was it her who was meant to die?

I really liked this book a lot. I'm always a sucker for a small town setting. It was a real page turner, and very hard to put down each night. There were a couple of possible suspects, but it left you guessing until the very end.

This was the first book I have read by Spindler, and it did not disappoint. I look forward to reading her other works as well.

Great Thriller Novel!

When Sienna Scott, a college student, stumbles upon the body of a fellow student on campus, her life is turned upside down.

I have read several other novels by Erica Spindler and I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. This novel was no different. I love reading thriller novels and this one was full of twists and turns that the reader never sees coming.

One irony of the novel is the setting. The city of Tranquility Bluffs is everything but tranquil for many years after the unsolved murder takes place.

One thing I loved about this novel is that the reader never knows who the killer is until the very end. Spindler keeps the reader guessing the entire novel and I personally never saw the end coming.

I will continue to be a fan of Erica Spindler and read any novel she publishes.

Kept me up all night!

Wrong place at the wrong time? Or very, very lucky? Is she crazy?
Or is someone trying to make her think she is?

The Look Alike is one of the best thrillers I’ve read this year, it grabbed my attention from the beginning and held it to the very end. The storyline is easily followed, with well developed characters , and there are plenty of possible suspects with just as many motives.
I really enjoyed all of the family dynamics in this book, how no matter what was happening they were trying to take care of each other.
This was my first book by Ms. Spindler, but I see many more in the very near future.
If you are looking for a great thriller, I highly recommend this one!

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Solid thriller, good weekend read

It has been many years since I read a book by Erica Spindler and I was intrigued by the premise of this novel. The main character, Sienna, was not unlikeable but I didn't connect with her immediately and some of her actions didn't match her personality. The other characters, especially Vivienne, are well written and I thought the author did a good job showing the effects of mental illness and how it impacts family members. The plot has enough twists and red herrings to keep the reader's attention. In fact, all the elements of classic suspense are present but the book was not as fast paced as I'd hoped. It took me longer to read than I anticipated but I was engaged enough to stick with it until the conclusion which actually surprised me.
