Super Enjoyable!!!

I loved The Man Test -- the debut novel from Amanda Aksel.

The Man Test is such a fun book. Marin Johns is very likable, very real, very human. I just love her personality; I could see myself in her in a lot of ways. Love the way she jumps to conclusions and makes assumptions; we've all done that. I had to laugh out loud frequently because I've done some of the exact things that Marin did. By the end of the book I felt I actually knew Marin and it's not often that I feel that way about characters in a book.

Some of my favorite scenes:
the camping trip (now how will Marin get out of THAT!)
spying (who hasn't spied or at least wanted to!)
the counseling session (ahhhh -- revenge is sweet!)
the shouted apology (priceless!)

The Man Test is a delight to read; the story has an easy flow to it and there's never a dull moment. Amanda Aksel is a great up-and-coming author -- I'm looking forward to reading all of her books. I'll be buying the first copy!

What a real dilema! Love it!

Reading The Man Test was a great experience.  It was so easy to get into and I didn't want to put it down.  I felt like Marin instantly became my friend, making her issues important to me and making her friends' issues of interest as well.  I love the fact that all of the women were educated and independent!  I felt like I could relate to them all in some way.  I love that the test itself was unique in and of itself; on TV, we have the show "Cheaters," but that is just catching people doing things they are already doing.  I love the twist...Marin almost ruined her friendships and a great relationship over heartbreak - what a real dilemma!  I have experienced heart break before, and as you showed, it can drive even the most sound, educated, independent woman to craziness.  I love that it ended with forgiveness and understanding by all parties.  You will surely enjoy Marin's experiences in this novel!
