This book is a great devotional. I am ready to reread it as each of the 30 chapters contains much heart and wisdom. Dutch Sheets shares scripture and experiences to draw the reader closer to Jesus, to daily seek and continue an Intimate relationship with the God who loves us unconditionally and is waiting to spend time with us.

Do you know people who are close to God, they remain calm and secure no matter what seems to be going on in their life. Want to have a more rewarding spiritual life? Dutch Sheets offers a way to help through information in this book. The book is written in an easy to understand way and has great examples to help in obtaining a closer walk with God. We need to treat God as a Holy God but also as a friend and not as someone, we only ask for what we want or only invite into our lives occasionally. Dutch gives many interesting stories in his book. He wrote his book in short chapters for fast and easy reading and can be used as a devotional. He ends each chapter with a prayer. I am sure you will enjoy this book and may want to read it multiple times.
Treat God as you would a best friend and invite Him to share in your life.

Divided in 30 chapters Dutch Sheets' latest book brings practical suggestions on how we can journey alongside God and enjoy His company to the fullest.
Beginning with 'The Person' to the last chapter 'The Price' each segment includes a prayer reflecting the chapter, and includes the scriptures and passages which inspired the prayer.

"Lord, help me to keep my Christianity real simple; resting in Your grace and trusting in Your love."
As he thanks God for His amazing grace, the author reminds us of the famous lyrics:

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I'm found,

As customary you cannot but feel Dutch Sheet's flowing style as he describes a simple practice of drawing away from life's many distractions and concentrate on listening to the words of God, but always as a Friend.

"Good Shepherd, I choose to rest in Your abundance and drink from Your living waters. Let my heart never be led astray from a simple, pure, and steadfast devotion to Christ. May the pleasure of Your company always remain my favourite and first choice."

Using a light conversational tone as if the Lord himself was sitting across the table, Sheets reveals some of his own experience whilst inviting each of us to develop a more intimate relationship in our relationship to Him.

Finding a special place to 'visit', placing ourselves in the right frame of mind, enjoying His presence and thus making Him a priority in our life.

It is spectacular

I received this as a gift and loved the humor and spiritual insight that the author was so good about combining. It's a great devotional book which is how I used it. I read a chapter a day. loved it so much I bought copies for my ladies Bible Study class for Christmas.
