Joseph was Amazing

Campbell gets five stars for this one. In his modest, unassuming way, Campbell during Moyers' series often recited from rote memory different myths and how they apply to everyday religion and life. He had the courage to say, "I don't know" when there are so many Christians who are sure they know the answers.
As the years pass, we will come to respect the true power, love and uniqueness that emanated from this man.

great intro to Joseph Campbell

who can say anything bad about this book? The NPR series done with Bill Moyer was a strong series and this book is no disappointment. It is a good book to read as an introduction to mythology and religion and its role in our modern lives, and it will leave you wanting to learn more about your own thoughts and beliefs and how they came about. You will also want to go buy more of Campbell's books and watch more of his fantastic lectures! He was a brilliant man!

Excellent book.

I'm passion about the power of this book and would like to see it as required reading in the schools, at least in high school. It would promote a much greater understanding of the differences in how people become emotionally attached to their predominately cultural god myths.
