Good book for PMHNP Review. Tons of spelling and grammatical errors; however, if you could overlook that, this book is an added resource for PMHNP certification preparation. It was one of the three review books I utilized to help with my certification prepatrion and passed certification on the first try.

The book is good if you can ignore all of the many typos and the failure of proof reading. In the past I have seen 1 or 2 in a book, but this one has 1 or 2 every other page! I hope they fix all of these problems before the next printing run.

Excellent review, helping me through my finals at my PMHNP program. Can’t wait until the question are available online.

Great review book for the PMHNP exam. Lots of information written in a very concise yet detailed way. So, it gets rated highly for that reason. However, this book is very poorly edited. Spelling and grammatical errors abound which is annoying. There's a misspelled word on pretty much every 3rd page or so. I'm surprised at how poorly this was edited considering it's from a reputable publisher. That being said, if you can overlook it (which I recommend you do), then this book has a lot to offer.

I wanted to love this review book so much but there are SO MANY TYPOS!! It’s so frustrating. As you can see in the photo the answer is B, but in the answers it is listed as “A” but with the correct explanation. There are multiple typos like this throughout the question banks. The material overall is helpful, but I’m too fearful I’m going to learn/review things incorrectly due to the massive number of typos. Would not recommend until there is an updated version that addresses these issues.

Edit: do not buy this book. The review questions at the end of the chapters are very poorly written. Many questions have material that is not covered at all in the book which is frustrating. Others just do not make sense and the rationales also do not provide enough information to justify certain answers. I’m sure there is a better review book out there.

Unlike other review books, this one is logical and layed out well.

It is very similar to the purple book, but I like that it has multiple choice questions after each chapter. It had a few typos here and there, but nothing that interfered with me understanding the content. Lastly, out of everything that I read, it’s only one thing I didn’t agree with

This comprehensive text can be used as a sole preparatory review for the ANCC PMHNP-BC board certification exam! Two thumbs-up. And I LOVE that one of your sleep hygiene recommendations is to "sleep naked." I couldn't agree anymore; I've been guilty of this for as long as I can remember.

And ~THANK YOU~ for referring to PMHNPs as "NPs" and "APRNs." The current trend of labeling APRNs with generic and inaccurate terms such as "APP," "APC," in addition to "midlevel" and "extender" only conflates our roles with physician associates (PAs). Such practices of using inaccurate labels for APRNs are patently indolent and fail to acknowledge the conceptualization of APRNs as being educated in the discipline of nursing. Further, PAs do NOT have "advanced" or "practice" in their formal titles even after their years-long embattlement to have their titles [successfully] rebranded.

But to address some of the comments about "errors." There are errors in the text, but such errors do not overshadow the benefits of this review manual's comprehensive and concise prose. Overall, publisher editorial support has become lax and is not what it once was before mass digital publishing. However, the 2nd edition will likely address and correct the majority of the errors. The only recommendation I have is to increase the font size by a wee bit.

Otherwise, this review manual is long overdue!!!
